Air filtration applications require activated carbon grades featuring excellent hardness characteristics and high retentivity. Coconut shell-based activated carbons with their extreme hardness and large micro-pore volume are the carbon of choice for this type of service. The carbon shapes and particle sizes used vary with the filter media (filter fabric, cartridges). Indocarb VP grade activated carbon is the preferred choice for air treatment due to its good retentivity, adsorption for low molecular, low concentration contaminants, and excellent handling characteristics. Our products are used in air filtration devices such as filters and adsorbers for Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), Cabin Air Filtration (CAF) and Emission/Odor Control (EOC) applications.

Being microporous in internal structure, coconut shell carbon is well suited for organic chemical adsorption, including volatile organic chemicals while having higher chlorine reduction capabilities. Many organic compounds, such as chlorinated and non chlorinated solvents, triholmethanes, pesticides and VOC are adsorbed into the inner pores; coconut carbon is also effective for removal of chlorine and moderately effective for removal of some heavy metals.

Indocarb GC grades of carbon are manufactured specifically for use in gold recovery applications. Its particle size and pore structure have been specially designed to provide the best adsorption of metal and cyanide complexes from CIP & CIL columns and to ensure maximum gold recovery. GC range of carbons is manufactured from the highest quality coconut shell under stringent controls to provide ultimate hardness and attrition resistance, whilst providing the best adsorption properties. Our GC range products are processed through a vee-wire screen and de-dusted to minimize the proportion of platelets and fines in the final product. GC carbons are available in several grades, each with different mesh sizes, to meet requirements of our customers all round the world. Our products are already being used in several profitable gold mining operations throughout Africa, Australia, Russia etc.
