Being microporous in internal structure, coconut shell carbon is well suited for organic chemical adsorption, including volatile organic chemicals while having higher chlorine reduction capabilities. Many organic compounds, such as chlorinated and non chlorinated solvents, triholmethanes, pesticides and VOC are adsorbed into the inner pores; coconut carbon is also effective for removal of chlorine and moderately effective for removal of some heavy metals.
Indocarb WT grade products are used in point-of-use (POU) and point-of-entry (POE) drinking water filtration devices to improve the quality of drinking water by removing unwanted compounds such as arsenic, chlorine, chlorinated by-products such as THM`s, chloramines, lead and volatile organic compounds (VOC`s).
Indocarb products are also used to remove other impurities such as colors and odors in many process water (PW) applications. Washed carbon (acid and/or water) are generally employed to protect a more expensive and efficient post treatment technology (membranes, etc.).
Whether it is the treatment of wastewater, effluent or contaminated ground water, Indocarb activated carbon is the right choice for any kind of purification processes. Due to the high internal surface area and specific adsorption capacities, our carbon can absorb large quantities of dissolved organics from wastewater. Granular carbon filtration is used for removing dissolved, non-biodegradable organics using fixed filter beds. Powder carbons are used by mixing it with the sludge for better process stability and improve settling characteristics of the sludge. Obviously the best option, whether PAC or GAC should be determined on a case-to-case basis.
Typical properties are of our standard products. Any other different grades can be manufactured as per customer request to meet specific requirements.
