In order to ensure the good management of the association and to help achieve the objectives set out in the 2020-2023 Strategic Plan, the IAHR has set up from 2020 onwards a series of management committees and task forces to ensure that the activities of the association support its vision, purpose, and aims.

Every management committee/task force provides oversight and leadership to the association by:

setting the strategic direction to guide and direct the activities of the association,
ensuring the effective management of the association and its activities,
monitoring the activities of the association to ensure they are in keeping with the strategic objectives.

The IAHR task force on Strengthening Diversity and Gender Equity, which intends to raise the profile and visibility of women who are active within the association, encourage women’s engagement and a balanced membership, identify and implement actions to improve equal opportunity and related representation within IAHR’s structures and activities, and engage with international and national processes promoting women in hydro-environment engineering at all levels, is particularly active.

IAHR publishes five international scientific journals from its headquarters in Madrid, Spain and Beijing,China in collaboration with Taylor and Francis and Elsevier –

the Journal of River Basin Management
the Journal of Applied Water Engineering and Research (which more practice-oriented and is published jointly with the World Council of Civil Engineers)
the Journal of Ecohydraulics (from 2016)
RIBAGUA - Revista Iberoamericana del Agua (from 2014)

In addition the International Journal of Hydro-Environment Re search (JHER) is published by the IAHR Asia Pacific Division in collaboration with the Korea Water Resources Association (KWRA) and Elsevier, and IAHR offers it s members discounts for several other journals including the Journal of Hydroinformatics, Journal of Sediment Research and the Urban Water Journal.

IAHR publishes a quarterly magazine for its members called Hydrolink, and a series of monthly and quarterly NewsFlash e-Newsletters for the international water community.
