The IOHA conducts a wide range of activities intended to promote and develop occupational hygiene worldwide. From its creation in 1987 the IOHA has grown to more than twenty member organisations, representing over 20,000 occupational hygienists worldwide. IOHA has become an international platform for occupational hygiene through the organizing of professional conferences on the scientific basis of our professional practice.

The International Occupational Hygiene Association (IOHA) represents the global community of occupational hygienists. IOHA is an association of occupational hygiene organisations from across the world, all of which are dedicated to the discipline and application of the inherent principles of occupational hygiene.

The Occupational Hygiene Training Association (OHTA) was formed to promote better standards of occupational hygiene practice throughout the world and provide the ohlearning.com. IOHA support OHTA and are working together to provide formal recognition of the qualifications delivered by the OHTA training programmes.

IOHA was established to improve, promote and develop occupational hygiene worldwide through its member organisations, and to improve and maintain a safe and healthy working environment for all.

From its creation in 1987, IOHA has grown to 29 member organisations, representing over 20,000 occupational hygienists worldwide.

IOHA provides an international voice of the occupational hygiene profession through its recognition as a non-governmental organisation (NGO) by both the ILO (International Labour Organisation) and WHO (World Health Organisation).

Objectives

  1. to improve, promote and develop the professional practice of occupational hygiene so as to improve and protect worker health and well-being throughout the world;
  2. to promote the exchange of information about occupational hygiene among organisations and individuals internationally;
  3. to improve the calibre of practitioners of occupational hygiene internationally by promoting and co-ordinating vocational training and by encouraging the further development of and seeking to promote the status of occupational hygiene as a profession throughout the world;
  4. To collaborate and cooperate with other societies, national and international organisations in the promotion of occupational hygiene for the protection of work force;
  5. To provide the international voice of the occupational hygiene profession through its recognition as a non-governmental organisation (NGO) by the ILO (International Labour Organisation) and WHO (World Health Organisation); and
  6. to advance and maintain the high level of professional competence through recognition of national accreditation schemes;
  7. to promote and maintain a high standard of ethics in the practice of occupational hygiene internationally.
