J&J Garden Center
Originally a family farm dating back to pioneer times, brothers Jerry and Dave Stevenson now proudly own and operate J&J Garden Center on the same land their father, grandfather and great grandfather farmed for generations. The rich bottom land of west Layton produced bountiful crops of alfalfa, wheat and onions for several generations until 1970 when the Stevenson family decided to try something different. That`s when a surplus WWII army barracks, approximately 30` X 30`, was moved onto the property to house and sell produce as a `truck farm` originally named J&J Produce. After a year or two of growing customer acceptance, it was decided to plant some basic nursery items to support west Layton`s burgeoning growth. Naturally, garden supplies were added as well.Today, J&J Garden Center is Utah`s largest producing nursery with over 100 acres under cultivation including five acres of greenhouses.
