The VF-609 is a versatile filter housing with bolted cover, designed for use with several different high performance Aquacon filter cartridges. Aquacon cartridges filter out water by chemically locking it into layers of super-absorbent media.  Water removal efficiency is not affected by surfactants or additives, and once captured, the water cannot be squeezed out.  Water capacity is as much as 1-1/2 quarts, depending on the flow rate.  These cartridges also effectively filter out dirt, rust and other particluates. As a cartridge reaches its water-holding limit, the media expands very rapidly and restricts the flow.  For fuels, the flow will completely stop, giving positive shut-off and guaranteeing water will not get downstream.  For oils and other high viscosity lquids, the pressure drop will rapidly increase, signaling the need to change cartridges.

Our most popular model of the vacuum distillation series. Low vacuum of 26” HG is pulled on the process oil while heated and filtered. Water removal rates of more than 3 gallons per hour can be achieved in many applications and total water can be reduced to less than 100 PPM. Standard features include Variable Speed Drive controller, inlet solenoid shut off safety, wing-nut closures, liquid ring vacuum pump with chiller, DP and pressure gauges on post filter vessel, interior and exterior epoxy paint, inlet/outlet hoses, and ball valves on all ports.

Usually used in applications of Hydraulic oil that see large quantities of dirt within their process such as coal pulverizers, quench oils, or steel mill hydraulics. The dual stage allows you to reach your cleanliness levels by serial flow through 2 differently rated filter medias. Based on your particle distribution results, these filters can be specified to optimize cleanliness and reduce filter replacement frequency. Standard features include wing-nut closures, DP and pressure gauges on each filter vessel, interior and exterior epoxy paint, inlet/outlet hoses, and ball valves on all ports. Various filtration flow rates are available as is also the duplex series option for filter change-out without stopping the filtration process.

This picture shows a system using the 186 vessel which holds (3) 36” Filters. Depending on the oil being filtered, this housing will handle up to 300 GPM. We also manufacture a JB71 which holds (1) 18” filter, a JB72 which holds (1) 36” filter, and a JB183 which holds (3) 18” filters. Easy opening wing-nuts, DP and Pressure gauges, interior and exterior epoxy coating, and ball valves for each port are all standard.
