We started in agriculture services more than 50 years ago, alongside a sister company, in Flandreau, South Dakota. While selling feed, seed, and fertilizer to local farmers, we realized a need for something more.
In 1993 we separated and, as J.C. Ramsdell Enviro Services, Inc., began fabricating and installing environmental containment systems. Our business model has evolved, but we’ve held on to our belief that every customer and business deserves dependable, experienced service. That’s the way we do business.
We’re on-the-spot problem solvers.
J.C. Ramsdell works with ethanol plants, fertilizer retailers, and other branches of the agriculture industry. We’ve handled everything from helping rural farm operations to stopping railcar spills using methods that no other company can (although they’ve tried). We’ve installed containment systems on more than 4,000 individual sites, as well as millions of feet of synthetic liner, throughout the United States and Canada.
From the start, our formula for growth and success has been a simple, logical approach: we’ll be honest about what you need, and then work with you toward the best possible solution. Environmental containment is our business—our only business—and nobody does it better than J.C. Ramsdell.
We put safety first.
There’s a lot on the line when handling products like ethanol and petroleum. Cement can crack and let pollutive substances into the ground or surrounding environment. One spark could start a fire that ruins your entire operation and containment system.
We’re here to help make sure these accidents don’t happen. J.C. Ramsdell protects the environment and your investment by staying up-to-date with safety trainings and certifications, like the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Our employees stay on top of environmental standards by state, working closely with regulatory agencies to meet or exceed requirements. You can rest assured your containment system is safe, reliable, and compliant.
We’re part of something bigger.
Our Flandreau roots have created a strong sense of community that applies to everything we do. It’s why we get to know our customers so well, and how we’re able to serve their needs accordingly. It’s why the same customers have done business with us since the 1980s. And it’s why we’re committed to giving back.
We show our community support and appreciation through contributions to the local Boys & Girls Club, museum, and business development. For the community to thrive, residents need a place for family activities. We do what we can to create those opportunities and spur growth.
