Since then, the collaboration between Kermel and the army has continued and resulted in many developments. Protective clothing made of Kermel fibre are adapted to riot gear as well. Today, Kermel is used by the French army, navy and air force, British and French riot squads, and by military personnel elsewhere in the world.

This Denim version made out of Kermel® fibre is an innovative jeanswear, combining non-flammability, comfort and durability with a new design, for industrial protective clothing. Thanks to the properties of Kermel® fibre, this Kermel® Denim is permanently non-flammable and protects against electric arc: no subsequent flame-retardant treatment is required.

Flame and fire resistant Kermel® fibre, well-known for its suppleness and its `textile` touch for an aramid fibre, is of course used in a very wide range of fire and flame resistant knits worn in direct contact with skin.

Station wear garments are also used by wildland firefighters in Spain, France or Italy: Kermel V50 (50% Kermel®, 50% FR Viscose), 260 g/sqm, Kermel V70 (70% Kermel®, 30% FR Viscose), 205 & 230 g/sqm.

Station wear is a day-to-day work uniform which offers the first level of protection against heat.
