Kinnetic Laboratories has successfully completed hundreds of projects involving contaminated sediments and/or dredge material sampling, testing, and data evaluations. These projects have involved offshore and in-harbor open water disposal, bury and cap solutions, terminal fill, and upland disposal projects. We use protocols that satisfy requirements of USEPA/USACE and local dredge materials guidance documents.

Kinnetic Laboratories, Inc. has a long and extensive project record on watershed and stormwater monitoring, Best Management Practices (BMP`s), and receiving water projects. Kinnetic Laboratories designed and successfully carried out the first major urban watershed stormwater projects in California: the Santa Clara Valley program that predated the 1991 regulations, and the Alameda County program. These programs both won EPA awards of excellence and served as models for the Federal stormwater regulations and most of the subsequent large urban projects in California. Since then, Kinnetic Laboratories has conducted over 20 major stormwater monitoring projects encompassing both urban and rural/agricultural areas.

Solutions to applied problems in coastal and estuarine areas often require physical oceanographic and water quality data central for design or compliance issues, or to help quantify environmental impacts associated with a project. Kinnetic Laboratories provides specialized physical oceanographic and water quality services ranging from theoretical calculations and computer modeling to extensive field investigations. For example, dilution and transport parameters are important to coastal outfall discharges. Kinnetic Laboratories has carried out many such physical oceanographic and meteorological studies, often integrated with other water quality and marine biological work. These studies have involved extensive field work such as moored instrumentation or transect studies from our work vessels, as well as complementary physical data evaluations and use of mathematical models to provide design or impact interpretations required.

The complex demands placed on our natural resources may result in changes to ecosystems. As a result, environmental problems arise that require creative and effective solutions. For the past 35 years, Kinnetic Laboratories has proven our ability to plan, implement, and conduct comprehensive biological and ecological studies that studies that encompass a diversity of biological regimes. Studies address both existing and potential future impacts to ecosystems as a result of natural and man-induced alterations to the environment.

Kinnetic Laboratories owns and maintains an extensive array of environmental and oceanographic instrumentation for project use, lease, and sale. In addition, Kinnetic Laboratories maintains an instrumentation department which works with clients to develop and customize solutions to various environmental and oceanographic monitoring and sampling needs. We create specialized instrumentation including complex oceanographic moorings with satellite telemetry capabilities, moored instrumentation, and are leaders in flow-compositing, modem-controlled stormwater monitoring stations that have been utilized in over 20 major urban watersheds.

Kinnetic Laboratories has maintained a fully staffed and equipped office in Alaska since 1979 and provides ENVIRONMENTAL AND OCEANOGRAPHIC SCIENCE SERVICES throughout Alaska including remote project sites. Critical to Alaskan oceanographic and environmental services are logistic capabilities and experience in remote Alaskan and Arctic operations. Kinnetic Laboratories specializes in fully integrated logistic capabilities, including a staff very experienced in Alaskan projects. Kinnetic Laboratories personnel have worked on Alaskan environmental problems for over 40 years and are thoroughly familiar with the state, the people, and the problems.
