LACO’s Engineering team has over 120 years of combined experience. We have formed teams to address civil engineering, water and wastewater, and structural engineering.

LACO’s building design team includes designers and planners with the experience, talent, and vision to support a wide variety of development projects. Our multidisciplinary, collaborative approach is particularly well suited for today’s complex projects and permitting requirements, helping you condense your project schedules and control your project budget.

LACO’s Planning Team provides planning and permitting assistance for land development and infrastructure projects throughout Eureka, Ukiah, Santa Rosa, and the surrounding Redwood Coast. Whether you are planning to build a subdivision, considering commercial tenant improvements, or building an addition to your home, we are here to help you navigate the planning and permitting process.

Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, and Hydrogeology. We provide geotechnical engineering and engineering geology services from our offices in Santa Rosa, Ukiah, and Eureka, California. Our Geotechnical Engineers and Certified Engineering Geologists have a deep background and accomplishments in seismic hazard evaluation, landslide mapping, liquefiable soils, expansive soils, and hydrogeologic studies. Whether you are developing plans for a new structure or mitigating potential hazards that threaten your project, an exploration and analysis of subsurface conditions will minimize your risks as well as your costs for design and construction. Our work has been reviewed and accepted by the California Geologic Survey, City and County chief building officials, State Office of Mining and Reclamation, and Regional Water Quality Control Board staff. Your projects will benefit from our in-house materials laboratory, drilling rig, and creative use of technology.

Minimizing the risks and costs associated with deleterious environmental conditions can be a significant concern for property owners and developers. Our professional team of Geologists, Environmental Scientists, and Field Technicians has worked for the last 25 years to build strong relationships with public health and water quality staff throughout Northern California. Over this period, our team has overseen the closure of more than 150 contaminated sites spanning waste oils, fuels, metals, wood preservatives, solvents, and caustic chemicals. You will benefit from the use of our Geoprobe drilling rig, innovative cleanup contracts, and fleet of remediation equipment. Our projects have been reviewed and approved by Regional Water Quality Control Board staff, County Environmental Health agencies, and the US Environmental Protection Agency.

LACO’s Surveying and Mapping Department has the capacity to efficiently complete a wide variety of projects from small, one-lot residential boundary surveys to larger subdivision and land development projects. We own and utilize a Leica Robotic Total Station and Topcon RTK GPS equipment. Our drafters provide mapping products using the data collected by our surveyors, as well as the designs generated by our engineers. We also provide GIS services including LIDAR data analysis and modeling. The seamless integration between our data collection process and mapping production allows for professional, economical deliverables.

LACO’s Materials Testing and Inspections team has the knowledge, experience, and qualifications to meet the demands of your project. We understand that timeliness and flexibility are essential to successful projects, and the quality of your construction project is our top concern.

LACO’s Drilling team provides professional services to consultants and property owners throughout California. Under the supervision of a C-57 licensed driller with nearly 40 years of experience, we deliver responsibly managed, consistent results. Our established presence and expertise ensures that you will receive direct savings, quality results, and personalized service - every time. We own and operate both Geoprobe Direct Push 6600 series and Simco hollow-stem auger rigs to provide a complete package of drilling services. Our team will work closely with your local regulatory agencies to approve installation of small diameter, direct push monitoring wells.
