Detailed Project Engineering

Detailed project engineering involves preparation of working drawings and detailed project costs, in order to facilitate project authorities to go ahead with the execution of project. This covers performing detailed engineering investigations viz; traffic studies, pavement and material investigations, subsoil explorations, etc and collecting data from secondary sources viz; past traffic census, corridor overtopping details, material sources and any other sensitive spots along the corridor and detailed designs using latest state-of-art techniques and software for various elements of construction viz; highway, embankments, ground improvement measures, bridges road safety features, etc. by following the set out design standards for the project. It also involves preparation environmental impact assessment, environmental management plan, community consultations, social assessment and resettlement action plan. It also involves preparation of land acquisition reports, bid documents and getting clearances from various depts.

Value Engineering / Efficiency Analysis

Value Engineering is an organized application of technical knowledge directed at finding and eliminating unnecessary costs in a project. It can be described as a process, which involves assessment of alternatives and choosing the optimized solution. The objective of Value Engineering is to focus on engineering solutions that are: i) Cost effective ii) Construction friendly iii) Improved quality iv) Safe and sound v) Optimization of resources.

Corridor Management

Corridor Management is a strategy of protecting project assets, ensuring traffic capacity and free flow, ensuring traffic safety, reducing vehicle operating costs, and preserving environmental standards. For developing an efficient Corridor Management System, it is essential to have a reliable inventory, and updated condition of assets and thereafter Corridor Management Unit (CMU) will undertake deficiency analysis, formulate recommendation framework for overall facelift of the Corridor.

Techno-Economic Feasibillity Studies

Infrastructure projects encounter many hindrances during implementation and involve huge investments. In identifying the projects for implementation, it is essential to examine the technical, environmental and social viability of the project and is also required to justify importance of investment in the project in terms of need as well as benefit to the society. For this, Techno-Economic Feasibility Studies become a very critical tool. During this studies the various functions of a Bridge Engineer are such as Site inspection, detailed condition survey of Cross Drainage Structures by visual inspection and if required conducting Non Destructive Test. Based on the site condition of the structures, taking decision of Reconstruction or Repair & Rehabilitation for all the structures. Collection of data from secondary sources viz; past traffic census, corridor overtopping details, material sources, General Arrangement of existing structures, Hydraulic data, Geotechnical data and any other sensitive spots along the corridor. Based on the collected secondary data finalization of General Arrangement of Structures with best alternatives span arrangement & Preliminary design for proposed structures assuming type and depth of foundation.

Construction Supervision

Detailed project engineering involves preparation of working drawings and detailed project costs, Specification & Bid documents preparation, finalization of Rehabilitation Scheme. in order to facilitate project authorities to go ahead with the execution of project. This covers performing detailed engineering investigations viz; traffic studies, pavement and material investigations, subsoil explorations, Hydraulic studies of structures, detailed design of Structures etc and collecting data from secondary sources viz; past traffic census, corridor overtopping details, material sources, General Arrangement of existing structures, Hydraulic data, Geotechnical data and any other sensitive spots along the corridor and detailed designs using latest state-of-art techniques and software for various elements of construction viz; highway, embankments, ground improvement measures, bridges road safety features, etc. by following the set out design standards for the project. It also involves preparation environmental impact assessment, environmental management plan, community consultations, social assessment and resettlement action plan. Stations/Area Planning

Terminal designs for railway stations have always been complex, owing to its varied technical and utilitarian functions. The design, its operations and provision of facilities have to be in the complete interest of the passengers. The various aspects that go into conceptualizing terminal design include, Overall layout design in relation to its functionality. Its integration with other systems for interchange facilities. Regional and local accessibility. The provision of facilities. Finally, the overall image of the terminal station.

Social Development Studies

It includes improvement of productivity of water for the enhancement of socially sustainable growth and poverty reduction, conjunctive use of surface and ground water for ensuring integrated water resources management, participatory irrigation management, social management framework, resettlement framework for project affected people in general and framework for indigenous people’s development plan (IPDP) and gender development plan etc.

Urban Planning & Infrastructure Development

Urban planning and development refers to a process that harnesses spatio-economic potential of an area for benefit of the people. With the introduction of consultancy services in urban sector in past few years, scope of project preparation has also widenened from landuse plans-the conventional idea of planning to include urban network identification, physical infrastructure planning and design, conservation of environmentally sensitive areas, historic sites, implementation and monitoring mechanisms and manpower and resource mobilization for plans. LASA with its strong staff strength and market positioning is in the forefront and has provided complete or partial services in 6 urban development projects in past 3 years, addressing, technical, financial, administrative and other requirements of various state and national level planning agencies.
