Lutco unground radial ball bearings are designed for applications where speeds and loads are moderate and where noise level requirements and running accuracy do not justify using more expensive precision ground bearings. Since the raceways are unground but highly polished, radial bearings are designed for applications with speeds not exceeding 1200 rpm. Radial bearings consist of a full complement of precision steel balls, a machined inner race and a pair of cold formed outer races captured by a soft steel band providing a fully unitized assembly. The soft steel band on the OD allows for the bearing to be pressed into a housing made without close housing tolerances. The axial load rating is 50% of the radial load rating.

Flushmount assemblies, as their name implies, are fastened flush to the mounting surface. These self aligning units are designed with spherical OD bearings which mate with the spherical inside surfaces of the flange housings with a patented self aligning feature.

Lutco unground banded thrust ball bearings are designed for applications which have moderate speeds and thrust loads. Thrust bearings consist of a full complement of precision steel balls located between a pair of cold formed races. The entire assembly is captured by a soft steel band providing a fully unitized assembly. The band acts as a shield to help retain the lubricant and keep contaminants out.

Axial space constraints can often be overcome with Lutco centerflange assemblies. These units are designed with the flange positioned at the center of the bearing width. Centerflanges consist of a Lutco semi-precision bearing or precision bearing seated between two welded flangettes.

Wood bearings are made from lubricant-filled maple wood to make it self-lubricating. Wood bearings absorb debris and are ideal for corrosive and abrasive applications where grit, fine contaminants and moisture are present. These permanently lubricated wood bearings are used extensively in augers and other agriculture and industrial equipment. Lutco offers spherical and cylindrical OD options as well as two piece split designs.

Flangette assemblies are constructed as two piece, pressed steel housings, and are used in applications that require controlled torque and misalignment. The spherical inside surfaces of each pair of flangettes mates with the spherical outside diameter of the bearing’s outer race to provide self-aligning capability.

Lutco`s family of pressed steel pillow blocks consist of a two piece separable stamped steel housing with spherical bearing seat. This allows the spherical OD bearing initial self-alignment in all directions. These units are an economical alternative to heavier cast iron units. They are generally used for light duty applications.

Lutco brings extensive experience to the contract manufacturing of heavy gauge metal stampings. Our large presses, with bed size of 76″ by 42″, have the ability to stamp up to .375″ in thickness. We also utilize our coining presses to economically produce smooth surface finishes when required.
