Check Valves
2” – 36” Horizontal Swing Check Valve
The valve clapper swings open to allow a `Full Waterway Flow` through the valve equal to the nominal diameter of the pipe. The clapper operates freely and opens or closes in accordance with the direction of flow. Clappers for valves 2`, 2.5`, and 3` are bronze. Clappers for valves 4` through 12` are cast iron, bronze-faced. Rubber faced clappers are available on all check valves 2 V£` thru 12` and standard on 14` through 36`. For optimum performance, rubber faced clappers are recommended on all check valves 14` and larger.

All butterfly valves shall be of the rubber-seated, tight-closing type. They shall meet or exceed AWWA standard C504, latest edition, Class 150. All valves shall be M&H 4500/1450 butterfly valves, or approved equal.

Flap Valve
Flap valves are used for end closure of outfall lines, or in manholes, to prevent entrance of backwater. They swing open under direct pressure to release the outfall fluid and close when direct pressure is relieved. The valve disc is offset from vertical to ensure positive closing.Flap valves are used in filtration and sewage disposal plants and in various industrial installations, and are furnished bronze mounted. Flap valves are available with flanged end connections, in sizes 4` - 30`.
