Survey Services
MUSC offers a global onshore and offshore survey capability, specialising in challenging environments. We have carried out numerous topographic and hydrographic surveys, using a range of equipment including DGPS positioning equipment, side-scan sonar, single and multi-beam echo sounders, magnetometers, sub-bottom profilers and gradiometers.

MUSC is a specialist in maritime and underwater work. The company was founded in 1974 by a Royal Naval Clearance Diving Officer to provide underwater security services.

MUSC has a long history in providing cable laying and survey operations. We can provide the full range of shallow water cable services, from initial feasibility studies through to the installation and burial of telecom and power cables and associated equipment for the commercial and defence industry.

Counter Piracy
Our highly trained and experienced onshore and offshore security and support staff provide comprehensive and reliable anti-piracy services to safeguard your ship`s transit through high-risk areas such as the Gulf of Aden, West Africa and the Malacca Straits.
On Board Security Services
MUSC has been putting security teams on board vessels since the tanker war of the `80`s. Although today`s threat has changed the quality of our personnel has not. MUSC’s Maritime Security Liaison Officer (MSLO) teams will provide a visible deterrent to pirates, bolster the confidence of crews and provide specialist, highly trained personnel to focus on vessel security. Having specific personnel onboard capable of managing vessel security by keeping 24/7 anti-piracy watches to defend the vessel in an attack, reduces the risk of pirates successfully getting aboard and removes the crew from the firing line.
Counter Piracy Audits and Hardening Services
Each vessel has its own vulnerabilities which pirates will aim to exploit in the event of an attack, including areas of low freeboard and areas where grapples, ladders and other tools can be attached to allow access. Whilst Best Management Practice (BMP) is a good template it is only a start and should form a foundation upon which to build.
Maritime Intelligence Services
Whilst engaged on operations MUSC maintains a 24/7 operations room manned by a team of highly trained maritime intelligence professionals. This team provides comprehensive and reliable intelligence services to safeguard clients’ assets operating in high-risk areas such as the Gulf of Aden, Indian Ocean, Africa and the Malacca Straits. Unlike other companies we are not solely focused on counter piracy but all maritime security threats which may affect a vessel’s ability to complete its voyage safely.
ISPS Services
MUSC have the unique position of being the only maritime security company requested to input directly to the development of the International Ship and Port Facility (ISPS) Code. Since the introduction of the Code, MUSC has used its in-depth knowledge and experience of the Code to train over 10,000 people worldwide, including numerous government security officials. We have also audited over 400 ports and terminals and hundreds of vessels across the globe.
