Marsulex Environmental Technologies (MET) products
Wet FGD
Met - Sodium Hydroxide System
In sodium scrubbing, a solution of sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate or sodium bicarbonate absorbs the SO2 from the flue gas. The SO2 reacts to form sodium sulfite and sodium bisulfite which are dissolved in solution. Part of all of the sulfites can be oxidized to form sodium sulfate. Sodium scrubbing differs from lime or limestone-based systems in that no solid waste is produced. Because of the high reactivity of the sodium alkali sorbent compared to the lime or limestone sorbents, these systems are characterized by a low liquid-to-gas ratio.
Dry FGD
Met - Dry Scrubber Flue Gas Desulfurization (CDS-FGD) System
Known around the globe for solid and innovative air quality control technologies, MET`s advanced circulating dry scrubber flue gas desulfurization (CDS-FGD) system provides the proper chemistry and conditions to simultaneously and effectively absorb sulfur dioxide, acid gases and associated heavy metals. This advanced, multi-pollutant control technology minimizes water consumption, improves reagent usage and produces no waste water streams.
Met - Process Lime Slurry Spray System
In the SDA process lime slurry spray is injected in the raw hot gas which results in an efficient mass and heat transfer process. The lime slurry forms fine droplets enabling a controlled flue gas cooling by the evaporating water and chemical reactions between the agents in the flue gas.
Particulate Control Technology
Met - Jet Fabric Filter Systems
Advanced, high-efficiency particulate collection with custom-engineered pulse jet fabric filters. MET’s Buell APC division provides high particulate collection efficiency systems in the form of customized intermediate pressure, long-bag pulse jet fabric filters. This technology provides solutions that meet our client’s needs with Medium Pressure technologies. Our PJFF technologies have been modernized to meet the high reliability and performance demands required in today’s market and are offered to the global coal-fired utility and industrial process industries.
Met - Emitting Electrodes
Buell APC offers replacement parts for many OEM ESP designs emitting electrodes. Our standard emitting electrode is designed for long life with minimum tensile strength specification of 216,000 psi. Shrouded hook ends are manufactured with the electrode wire inserted through the shroud prior to forming the hook thus eliminating the requirement for crimping.
Met - Electrostatic Precipitators (ESP)
Our Electrostatic Precipitator technology provides enhanced performance and reliability through proven, reliable, cost effective and cutting edge designs that include:
Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)
Met - Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) System
Reduce over 90% of nitrogen oxides from flue gas emissions with the MET Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) solution. Our catalyst design has been proven in facilities fueled by coal, oil, natural gas, biomass and waste. With an installed capacity of 26000 MW globally it is optimized for process performance and long service life and can be used with various reagents. The Marsulex Environmental Technologies SCR system is not only suitable for new units but is also a great choice for retrofitting, upgrading, and rebuilding projects. We also provide performance enhancement and structural engineering evaluations, as well as catalyst management and planning programs.
