Compaction - Rammers
MBW - Rammer
The R422 Rammer ideally suited for the compaction of granular, mixed and cohesive soils in confined areas. A mainstay in contractor and municipal fleets, the R422 offers a highly productive percussion rammer at 145 lbs. The contoured fuel tank provides the largest fuel capacity in its class and effectively baffles engine noise. Power is supplied by Honda GX100 engine.
Compaction - Vibratory Plates
MBW - Heavy Duty Vibratory Plate
MBW’s AP2000 was the first vibratory plate compactor specifically designed for asphalt applications. Frequency, amplitude, centrifugal force and mass are all established at optimal levels for maximum productivity on asphalt. Further, the mechanical construction of the AP2000 is specific to this very demanding application. Stress relieved steel plate housings are crack resistant and provide long wear. Aluminum exciter housing dissipates heat rapidly and custom lubricants preserve bearing and seal integrity. The self cleaning plate prevents dirt build-up.
MBW - Light Duty Vibratory Plate
This series of economical vibratory plates – the 12, 15 & 18 – is portable and offers outstanding compaction performance. A patented suspension system places shock mounts predominantly in a shear mode at the high-amplitude front end of the plate, and in a compressive mode at the low-amplitude trailing end of the plate. This system reduces hand-arm vibration and better isolates all upper mass components, including the engine, from vibrations produced by the machine’s exciter. With amplitudes up to 0.061 inches, centrifugal force up to 2780 lbf, and travel speeds up to 83 feet per minute, these plates are ideal for confined areas of granular soils, including sands and gravels. They are also capable of achieving lift depths of up to 10 inches (28 cm).
Concrete - Walk-Behind Trowels
MBW - Walk-Behind Trowel
The F24 is a 2ft edging trowel ideal for jobs that require a lightweight, highly maneuverable, professional finishing tool. This specialty finishing power trowel allows professional results even when confined areas or weight restrictions leave other machines standing idle. Available in both a gas and electric version.
MBW - 3-Foot Walk-Behind Trowels
MBW’s 3-foot walk-behind trowels come in a variety of engine and handle options to suit all operators. With a gearbox machined and built in-house, these units are designed to last. Teflon inserts in the one-piece spider assembly ensure that the trowel arms will never seize up. The MBW F36 also utilizes hex trowel arms longer than the industry standard, resulting in less deflection. Additionally, these units are offered in a High Torque version that allows for a larger window of adjustability on blade RPMs, both on the high and low ends. The F36 comes with four handle options: Standard, Low Vibration, EZ Pitch and the new Power Pitch.
Construction & Maintenance - Compaction
MBW - Pneumatic Tamper
MBW has developed the Ergo-Tamp, addressing one of the construction industry's most troubling and physically demanding compaction tools. Known as pneumatic tampers, or colloquially as 'Pole Tampers' and 'Pogo Sticks,' these tools traditionally produce high levels of hand/arm vibration, contributing to ailments such as white finger, carpal tunnel syndrome, and arthritis. The Ergo-Tamp reduces this vibration by up to 70%, though results may vary with different compaction conditions. The device incorporates a vibration absorption system that can handle the typical amplitude range of pneumatic tampers and benefits from a constant flow of compressed air through its mechanism for cooling. This innovation makes the pneumatic tamper more operator-friendly, reducing premature termination of compaction tasks and thereby decreasing the likelihood of pavement failures. Optional features include a trigger guard to prevent accidental activation.MBW - Pneumatically Powered Rammer
The Airammer™ is a pneumatically powered rammer. It eliminates a long list of engine related problems. There are no fuel or fuel mixing issues, no carburetor, no spark plug, no exhaust ports or muffler to foul with carbon, no rewind starter, no flooding problems, no air or fuel filters that can be plugged, no rpm issues, all of which affect performance. The Airammer isn’t the right machine for every application, but it’s perfect for crews with ready access to an air compressor.
Utility
Soil Pick - Pneumatic Soil Excavators
The Soil Pick is a selective excavator. Selective in the sense that it fractures, pulverizes and displaces porous and semi-porous soils, yet leaves nonporous objects unaffected. The Soil Pick excavates soil without risk of damaging buried utilities.
