The safety grate system is incorporated under the lid, so when the maintenance crews open the access covers the grates are always in place. When it is necessary to access inside the void it is simple and quick to open the grates to form a complete void protection barrier on site, so safety is not left to chance. If needed all the grates can be removed to allow complete access for repair or removal of equipment from the void.

Odours emissions are often detected in and around ground level manholes. McBerns has designed a Under Manhole Odour Filter. It comprises a simple yet innovative design that is fast and easy to install. Just clean the manhole rim of debris and slip filter casing into place, then lower MC300 McBerns media cartridge over the opening, place cover back on the manhole. Designed to be used under manhole covers in roads, pathways, parks or where odors are a problem. For use on manholes where an above ground filter would not be suitable. Incorporated in the design is an drainage wick which allows water to drain away after rain events. Water ingress does not effect the filter`s performance. Constructed with Stainless Steel, coated with a anti-corrosion polymer to withstand the highly corrosive environment where they are installed.

The GM150 can be mounted at ground level near buildings where vent poles would not appropriate. They are ideal for mounting alongside grease traps and can also be used inside pump station buildings. A vandal proof cover can be supplied for outside use.

GM300 is a passive filter, they have been designed to be installed on receiving manholes, pump stations and to replace old corroded vent poles at ground level. In fact they can be used in many industrial situations where odours are a problem. Our Filter absorbs H2S, bio-gases and other foul odors, using an environmentally friendly natural mineral and an oxidising chemical. Replacement McBerns GM300 media cartridges are available.

GM375 odour filter is larger and contains four times more media than the GM300 and is designed for more extreme situations. Suited for use on air valves, receiving manholes and pump stations.

The ZC300 is a passive unit can capture large gas surges which occur with high volume sewage flows. They can be used as an extraction system in combination with a 3/phase ‘ExE’ fan.
