McCurry Hydrology, LLC services
Water Resources Planning Service
Water is an essential part of our daily lives yet few appreciate the effort required to manage this resource in a way that balances human and environmental needs. As demands for water continue to grow so too does the need for proper planning.
Groundwater Modeling Service
McCurry Hydrology has been involved in modeling aquifer systems, including connected stream-aquifer systems, for more than 25 years. Dr. McCurry has taught graduate-level courses on groundwater modeling and developed a package for the widely used USGS model MODFLOW.
Contaminant Delineation Service
McCurry Hydrology has extensive experience with investigating and characterizing contamination of soils and groundwater. Dr. McCurry has been involved in planning, field sampling and data analysis phases of contaminant investigations at dozens of sites across the country for more than 25 years.
Aquifer Remedial Design Service
McCurry Hydrology has been involved with cleanup-related activities for contaminated soils and groundwater since the mid 1980`s, being involved with many CERCLA, RCRA and state-mandated remedial actions.
Water Rights Assessment Service
McCurry Hydrology has undertaken the majority of its water resources projects in the western U.S., where water rights under the Prior Appropriation system plays a key role in determining where and when supplies are available. Dr. McCurry has served as expert witness on cases in several states. He developed a package for the USGS model MODFLOW that determines stream diversions according to the Prior Appropriation system under conditions of varying hydrology.
Climate Change Impacts Service
McCurry Hydrology has been involved with studies of climate change impacts on hydrology for more than 15 years, long before this became such a politically charged topic. The field data and climate models both have become more extensive and detailed over time, but the basic predictions have changed little for many decades.
