The business operations of Messe Frankfurt are conducted by the two companies Messe Frankfurt Venue GmbH & Co. KG and Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH. The bracket surrounding the two independent 100% subsidiaries is formed by the holding company Messe Frankfurt GmbH, which controls the activities of the two companies. The holding company, Messe Frankfurt Venue and Messe Frankfurt Exhibition are run by one Executive Board.

Messe Frankfurt

Acting as a holding company, Messe Frankfurt GmbH is responsible for strategic control and overall coordination of the Messe Frankfurt corporate group. The holding company also provides financial resources and acts internally as an investor whose decisions are based on strategic criteria and long-term profit expectations. The shares of the holding company are held by the two public shareholders: city of Frankfurt (60 per cent), state of Hesse (40 per cent).

Messe Frankfurt GmbH controls the activities of the two independent 100% subsidiaries Messe Frankfurt Venue GmbH & Co. KG and Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH. The holding company, Messe Frankfurt Venue and Messe Frankfurt Exhibition are run by one Executive Board.

Messe Frankfurt Exhibition

Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH is responsible for event management and operates as a private trade fair operating company without its own exhibition grounds. It is the main lessee of Messe Frankfurt Venue GmbH. The company supervises all own events as well as all domestic and foreign subsidiaries that organise trade fairs. The company is also responsible for managing the worldwide brands of Messe Frankfurt as well as developing new exhibition themes.

To consolidate and expand the strategic position in the Asian region, Messe Frankfurt Asia Holding Ltd. was established at the end of 2003 as a management holding. Its mission is to consolidate and control the trade fair activities of all the Asian subsidiaries.

Messe Frankfurt Venue

Messe Frankfurt Venue GmbH & Co. KG's mission is to manage the technical and services side of events, to market the exhibition centre including the Congress Center Messe Frankfurt and the Festhalle to guest organisers and to assure the maintenance and further expansion of the exhibition complex.

The service companies Messe Frankfurt Medien und Service GmbH and Accente Gastronomie Service GmbH also fall under the management of Messe Frankfurt Venue GmbH & Co. KG.

The Consumer Goods & Leisure business field is concerned with products and ideas that make life easier and more pleasant. This wide range includes tableware, household goods, innovative products for the kitchen, arts and crafts ideas and materials, gift ideas for every occasion, decorations for the home, office fixtures, trendy furniture and furnishings, and home design and decoration concepts. This enormous diversity is what sets apart the sector and our business field – locally, nationally and globally.

Under the umbrella of Consumer Goods & Leisure, Messe Frankfurt combines some of the leading trade fair formats in the international consumer goods sector – not only at its Frankfurt base, but also in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Every year, retailers and wholesalers come together with producers, designers and industry newcomers at our 20-plus consumer goods fairs in order to absorb and discuss the latest trends, to interact with other players and to seek inspiration. Leading Frankfurt-based events Ambiente, Tendence, Paperworld, Christmasworld and Creativeworld – together with worldwide trade fairs such as Beautyworld, Interior Lifestyle and Interpets – serve as international platforms for generating orders and providing inspiration for over 13,500 exhibitors and more than half a million trade visitors annually.
