Environmental Studies Services
Assessment of odour immisions: In the case of new or extended buildings for livestock or composting plants, we assess the odourous emissions. The dispersion conditions in the surroundings of these facilities are analysed. We determine whether critical weather conditions, particularly cold-air flows, exist near odour pollution, and how they will develop. If necessary, we can carry out temporary measurements of wind conditions with our own weather stations, or simulate the odourous immissions with the specialised AUSTAL2000G expansion model.
Immission Maps Services
Data and maps on air pollution. The dispersion model PolluMap: Meteotest, in collaboration with the company INFRAS, has developed PolluMap. It is utilised for particulates, nitrogen dioxide, benzene, BC and sulfur dioxide. On the basis of emission balances, emission cadastres are calculated as a first step. Using transfer functions based on regional climatologies the emissions are converted to immissions. Our expertise in GIS ensures delivery of the results as clearly presented maps. PolluMap maps are important input maps for the modeling of hourly hybrid maps for pollutant concentrations. PolluMap can be utilised worldwide.
Critical Loads Services
Exposure to nitrogen and ammonia analysed. Critical Loads as an internationally recognized standard. Are you an expert on air pollution, agriculture or nature conservation, dealing with the issue of nitrogen as an air pollutant, which can eutrophicate and acidify ecosystems?. Since no air pollution limit values for nitrogen or ammonia concentrations are contained in the Swiss air pollution control ordinance, Critical Loads can be used as an internationally recognized standard.
