Mincon has its home base in Shannon, a relatively new and vibrant town situated in the picturesque West of Ireland, with an international Airport offering excellent communication facilities to most parts of the world. The Company was founded in 1977 to produce state-of-the-art engineered Rock Drills and associated parts. From its inception, Mincon has had a clear vision and determined focus giving priority towards:

Those same values remain within the company today, and Mincon is proud to have developed an enviable reputation for its superior quality products which can be found on job sites all over the world. Maintaining these values has been achieved in two main ways. Firstly modern manufacturing facilities in Ireland, USA and Australia have been outfitted with the latest machinery allowing Mincon to control all aspects of the production process. Secondly we have established manufacturer owned sales and distribution companies in key markets around the world. Retaining top class employees coupled with continuous training has ensured that Mincon is at the fore of Rock Drill manufacturing, sales and service.

Our Corporate strategy is to make the customer the focal point of everything we do, and through a World Class Business approach, meet and exceed the expectations of our customers. In the latter part of the 1990’s, we began production of a new generation range of “Down-the-Hole” Hammers and Bits. Now this top quality equipment is bringing a whole host of advantages to the rock drill industry in terms of: increased drilling speeds, longer service life, greater reliability with ease of maintenance and maximum operating cost effectiveness. All of this is due to our superior designs, unique processes and the highest engineering standards, coupled with a rigorous quality control culture and an excellent understanding of the demanding and diverse conditions in which our hammers are expected to work. The new Mincon Hammers and Bits developed rapidly over a relatively short period, simply by listening to what drillers themselves expect from the Hammer and then by using this valuable information and incorporating much of it into the final designs.

Since the launch in the latter part of the 1990’s of the Mincon standard range of DTH hammers our engineers have remained busy focusing always on the next evolution in DTH technology. 2003 saw Mincon establish a manufacturing plant in Benton Illinois USA. Strategically located in North America and focused on producing DTH Bits this state of the art plant is capable of producing Bits from 89mm (3 ½”) to 559mm (22”).
