Hollow Cathode Lamps

Hollow cathode lamp bodies are made in many different configurations in diameters of 25mm, 37mm and 5Omm. For high transmission at the UV end of the spectrum they are fabricated with special end windows such as Schott, 8337 or more commonly synthetic quartz, necessitating the incorporation of quartz-Schott 8250 graded seals in the body.

pH Electrode Glass Bodies

PH  ELECTRODE  GLASS  BODIESSuppliers  of  pH  Electrode  Glass  Bodies  internationallyMoores  Glassworks  manufacture  the  glass  bodies  that  house  the  electrode.  The  glass  body  electrode  is  most  often  used  in  laboratory  applications  and  is  the  best  choice  for  solutions  containing  proteins  and  organics  or  solvents,  which  might  attack  a  polymer  body.

Photo Ionization Detector (PID Glass Bodies)

The Photo Ionization Detector (PID) is a portable vapour and gas detector that detects a variety of organic compounds. Photo ionization occurs when an atom or molecule absorbs light of sufficient energy to cause an electron to leave and create a positive ion. The PID is comprised of an ultraviolet lamp that emits photons that are absorbed by the compound in an ionization chamber. Ions (atoms or molecules that have gained or lost electrons and thus have a net positive or negative charge) produced during this process are collected by electrodes.

Photomultiplier Envelopes

Envelopes for photomultipliers are manufactured in many different configurations. They range from 19mm to 125mm in diameter with window materials of Pyrex, Schott 8250, ultra-violet transmitting Schott 8337, quartz and magnesium fluoride. End windows can be plano-plano, piano-concave or domed and may be round, hexagonal or square.

Moores Glassworks - Glass Condom Moulds

Here at Moores Glassworks we are very excited to be going into this new venture making Condom Moulds. The glass moulds are made at our manufacturing facility Sadems Industries in Belgium on fully automated glass lathes. We then use special techniques to produce the grooves and ribs in the glasswear and can consistently achieve a very high quality. Our manufacturing techniques allow us to be competitive in a market that is sensitive to pricing.

Cathode Ray Tubes

Glass-to-Glass Graded Seals

Moores Glassworks are a world leader in the manufacturing of graded seals. With forty years experience in the industry, Moores Glassworks know the most reliable methods of creating glass-to-glass seals. By using our unique tried and tested methods, we create a graded seal to join the glasses. A graded seal is used when to materials have different coefficients of thermal expansion. In this case we use a series of intermediate sealing glasses between the two different glasses. The linear coefficient of expansion must be close to avoid these seals from cracking.

Multi-Pin Bases / Stems

Multi-pin bases are produced in either lead or kodial glass (Schott 8250) in a wide range of sizes and configurations. They are used in electron tubes of all types such as X-ray, photomultiplier, cathode ray, hollow cathode lamps and other specialist tubes. Base diameters range from 12mm to 75mm and pin diameters from 0.5mm to 2.5mm with from four to twenty-one pins per base.

Ultra High Vacuum Viewports

Extensive range of custom made ultra high vacuum viewports Vacuum viewports are fabricated in viewing diameters from 16mm to 14Omm. These are made from optical quality ‘Kodail’ glass sealed into ‘Kovar’ spinnings which are then welded into vacuum flanges. All viewports are custom designed and made for exact specifications.
