Downhole Probes- Electrical

Mount-Sopris - Electrical Resistivity Probes

The QL40-ELOG digital probe measures 8, 16, 32 and 64 inch normal resistivity, single point resistance (SPR) and spontaneous potential (SP) simultaneously. Users can log resistivity profiles with different depths of investigation and gain information about permeability, porosity, water quality and geological formation properties.

Downhole Probes- Gamma

Mount-Sopris - Large Crystal Spectral Gamma Probes

The 2LSA-1000 probe measures the amount of gamma radiation occurring naturally within the formations crossed by a borehole and counts the number of gamma emissions associated with each energy level. Gamma rays are produced mainly by isotopes of potassium, thorium, and uranium and their decay products. The spectral gamma ray log is widely used in the mining and environmental industries for the identification of lithology, correlation between boreholes, and clay content analyses.

Mount-Sopris - Spectral Gamma Probes

The QL40-SGR-2G is a new generation of borehole logging Spectral Gamma Tool. This new logging probe consists of a completely redesigned and ruggedized mechanical assembly, electronics and gamma module. It implements also the latest telemetry developments to enhance tool performance on long single and multi-conductor wirelines.

Mount-Sopris - Natural Gamma Probes

The QL40-GR probe measures the amount of gamma radiation occurring naturally within the formations crossed by a borehole. Gamma rays are produced mainly by isotopes of potassium, thorium, and uranium. The gamma log is widely used in the groundwater and mining industries to identify lithology and perform clay content analyses. The tool is supplied as a stackable sub of the Quick Link (QL) product line or it can be run as a standalone tool. The QL40-GR operates on any standard wireline (mono, 4 or 7 conductor, coaxial).

Mount Sopris - Nano Gamma Ray Probe

The 19GR Nano Gamma is the slimmest downhole gamma probe in existence today. At only 19.05 mm (0.75 inches) in diameter, it can be used inside Geoprobe push tubes to collect lithological information in soils or other hard to reach zones. It is operated as a standalone pulse probe on the Matrix acquisition system. The natural gamma probe measures the amount of gamma radiation occurring naturally within the formations crossed by a hole. Gamma rays are produced mainly by isotopes of potassium, thorium, and uranium. The gamma log is widely used in the groundwater and environmental industries to identify lithology and perform containment analyses.

Borehole Logging Winches

Mount Sopris - Intelligent Winch Assembly

The Mount Sopris Intelligent Winch Assembly (IWA) is smarter, stronger, safer, and more user-friendly, while holding more cable than any of its predecessors. With a powerful 6 HP servo motor and a 2,500-meter (8,200-feet) wireline capacity, this winch was designed to deliver more. Featuring an intuitive touchscreen user interface, all winch settings and system diagnostics are easily monitored and controlled – giving the operator better visibility, precise control, and greater safety.

Mount Sopris - Truck Mount Winch

Mount Sopris WNA and WFA Truck-Mounted Winches are rugged, field-tested logging hoists capable of positioning a geophysical probe or other tool in a borehole. They are designed to be mounted to a truck and can haul equipment loads up to 272 kg (600 lbs) at rates between 0 and 90 m/min (0 to 300 ft/min). These winches are optimal for boreholes between 1000 and 1800 meters (3280 ft to 5900 ft) in depth and support a wide variety of cable types.

Mount Sopris - Semi-Portable Borehole Logging Winches

The MX Winch is a portable logging winch capable of positioning a geophysical probe or other downhole logging tools in a borehole. The MX winch product line is comprised of the MXA, MXB and MXC winches. The system is equipped with a slip ring, cable level wind, depth measure head, mechanical brake, and connections through which surface data logger can communicate with the downhole probe.

Mount Sopris - Portable Winches

The “Mini” winch is a logging hoist, capable of positioning a geophysical probe or other tools in a borehole. The system is equipped with slip ring and connections through which surface instrumentation can communicate with the probe. A precision measuring wheel and rotary encoder are also included to allow the amount of cable played out to be tracked. The cable is wrapped on the drum in even layers through a manually operated, tiller arm.

Data Loggers - Data Acquisition Systems

Scout - Data Acquisition System

The SCOUT Pro is a new generation data logger. It offers the unique combination of high performance, ruggedness, and ease-of-use appreciated by many wireline logging operators worldwide. It supports all tools implementing ALT protocol including Mount Sopris/ALT tools with QuickLink (QL) Telemetry, and it is optimized for use with the 2nd generation Acoustic and Optical Televiewers – collecting data at baud rates up to 500,000 bps. The new system also offers compatibility with Geovista and Kuster probe lines. The hardware incorporates the latest electronic components with embedded systems controlled via the specially developed LoggerSuite Windows interface program.
