Pollution Prevention (P2) and Monitoring

NES - Air Monitoring Systems

National Environmental Systems has built upon our experience with integrated systems to work with clients requiring assistance with designing and building Air Monitoring Stations. Portable systems are available for monitoring air at construction sites. Other systems may be housed in mobile trailers or fixed-point enclosures. The requirements for air monitoring may include specifications for intricate instrumentation along with sophisticated controls and telemetry.

NES - Wastewater Systems

At National Environmental Systems we have twenty years of experience building integrated systems for pumping applications. Wastewater applications require rigorous controls and data acquisition. Our system engineers will design and build controls to meet your project criteria.

NES - Wash Water Recovery Systems

Collecting and treating wash-water is a major non-point source control effort that is being enforced by regulatory agencies. At National Environmental Systems we can provide mobile and fixed point systems to meet client needs.

Remediation Components

NES - Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) Blowers

Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) is a technique to rapidly remove volatile contaminants from the subsurface. Once the pilot test has been completed and the required flow-rates and vacuums have been determined the selection of the proper equipment can begin.

NES - Groundwater Treatment Air Strippers

Air Strippers are designed to remove volatile organics from groundwater. Groundwater is pumped into the top of the air stripper and a fan coupled to the bottom of the stripper generates an optimum flow of air to strip the contaminants from the water. The resulting air is discharged for further processing and the resulting aqueous stream has virtually 99% of the contamination removed. The strippers can be constructed from HDPE (for lower flow-rates and space limitations) or Stainless Steel (for higher flow-rates).

NES - Moisture Separators

Moisture Separators remove liquids from the process stream in soil venting applications to help protect the blower from corrosion and mineral deposits caused by entrained water in the vapor stream.

Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) Off-Gas Treatment System

The vapor removed from contaminated soil using the Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) technique must be treated to remove the hazardous components. Two methods are generally available – treatment using activated carbon or combustion treatment. Selecting either option is dependent on various factors: VGAC – Vapor Phase Granular Activated Carbon The contaminated vapor is passed through a series of carbon beds sized for flow rates and expected contaminant loading.
