Use this kit for quantitative nitrate analysis of essentially any aqueous sample, from wastewater to soil and plant extracts.  This test tube format kit is to be used with your colorimeter or spectrophotometer capable of reading at 540nm± 20nm.  NECi`s recombinant Nitrate Reductase drives all Nitrate to Nitrite using NADH, which reacts with color reagents under acidic conditions to produce a visible color.

Use this kit for quantification of nitrate in essentially any aqueous sample.  Reactions occur on a 96-well microplate provided with the kit.  This test kit is based on the enzyme Nitrate Reductase (NaR), catalyzing the reduction of nitrate to nitrite using the natural electron donor NADH.  The nitrite reacts with color reagents under acidic conditions to produce a visible color. The concentration of nitrate in the original sample is determined by measuring absorbance with a microplate reader using a 540 nm filter, versus nitrate concentration in nitrate standards.

This kit is supplied complete with all necessary reagents except for HPLC water. This test tube format kit is to be used with your UV capable spectrophotometer capable of reading absorbance at 360nm.

This kit enables you to prepare extracts of 10 samples and to assay these extracts for NADH: Nitrate Reductase (NaR) activity in roots, stems, leaves, whole plants, fungal or microbial extracts.  The enzyme Nitrate Reductase (NaR) catalyzes the reduction of Nitrate to Nitrite using the natural electron donor NADH.  The nitrite reacts with color reagents (dyes) under acidic conditions to produce a visible magenta color.  The color produced is directly proportional to the nitrate concentration.  The quantity of nitrate reduced in the reaction time tells you how much active nitrate reductase is present in your sample.

One unit reduces 1 micromol nitrate/minute @ 25°C.
