Starting with the dismantling of large parts such as compressors and heat exchangers, the remainder of the fridge`s housing is then ground within an encapsulated shredding unit. By cross-cutting the fridges, valuable raw materials such as iron, aluminium and diverse hard plastics are deconstructed and cleaned in a very efficient way. These raw materials are then sent to down-stream facilities for further processing.

We keep 450 containers of varying sizes available specifically for the purposes of the new collection system. Using a newly developed database and SCM software, we maintain a smooth and hassle-free pick-up and delivery of containers at municipal collection points. Specialised tracking devices - similar to GPS units and covertly attached to our containers - assist in locating our containers and creating flexible, time-efficient logistics, ensuring professional and safe transportation to the nearest recycling facility. We can also design a dedicated, individual collection system for your company.

Our facilities in Gemmerich (near Koblenz) and Wilhelmshaven process appliances of ElektroG-collection groups 1 (Large Domestic Appliances), 2 (Refrigerators), 3 and 5 (Information Technology / Consumer Electronics and Small Domestic Appliances). At our Zerlegezentrum Grevenbroich appliances are processed using a number of different technologies, including a dismantling stage, a refrigerator recycling unit as well as an oil radiator processing system. These are complemented by a new electronics recycling unit and a CRT processing system. Naturally, all of our recycling facilities are fully certified according to international standards.

Refrigerator recycling is performed according to current standards, helping us process about 400,000 fridges every year. Along with the extraction of valuable raw materials, the disposal of hazardous residues is the key aspect of our operations. Using a newly developed gas extraction technology, NOEX can ensure an extraction rate of almost 99.9 percent for CFCs and Pentanes. This way, more than 150,000 kilograms of these hazardous gases are contained.

In addition to our fridge recycling unit, we have build up pre-processing of TV sets and monitors in Grevenbroich as well. Key aspects of this pre-processing unit are the removal of hazardous wastes and retrieval of valuable substances by means of manual dismantling.
