Nord-Schrott in Flensburg
was founded in 1898 and remains until today an owner-run company. The special overriding concern of the company is always a personal, long-term contact with customers. Trustworthy and transparent dealings are still an important part of Nord-Schrott’s company philosophy.
In an area of 130,000 m2 metal and scrap of all kinds and qualities are sorted, checked and processed to meet the needs of our customers in Europe and across the world. 183 employees ensure that such material reaches the processing industry quickly and safely and is both clean and of high quality.
With all certificates imaginable and equipped with various technical facilities, Nord-Schrott has the best facilities for the recycling and safe disposal of all kinds of used materials.
As early as 1898 the founders collected iron, metals, paper and rags with hand carts.
In 1973 the Schrott-Lassen company took over the activities of the Christian Lassen company.
In 1977 Michael Lassen became owner-manager.
With a commercial vision the company developed into a specialised wholesale and disposal business.
In 1986 Schrott-Lassen and L. Feldhaus GmbH merged to form
Nord-Schrott GmbH & Co. KG and at this point in time it employed
Nord-Schrott started in Flensburg with the firm’s headquarters in Lilienthalstrasse and with a 600 tonne Bronneberg cutter at the industrial premises in Trollseweg.
The 15,000m2 area in Lilienthalstrasse was gradually expanded to a size of 70,000m2 and fitted according to the latest environmental guidelines. Concreted areas with drainage, coalescence cutters, oil cutters and catchment basins are standard. Maintenance and constant adjustments to new standards are a matter of course.
At the end of the 80s operations were expanded to include a shredder and can squasher. At this point in time 40 people were employed at Nord-Schrott. The truck fleet was continually expanded.
Jens Roed became a shareholder in Nord-Schrott in1993.
With two new metal presses and special vehicles for the loading of oversea containers, a further expansion was achieved in 1993 in the business sectors of metal, aluminium, brass, cable and electric motors.
In 2002 the sites were expanded once again to meet the large space requirement due to increased activities in the area of electronic scrap.
In 2005 the shareholder from the former L. Feldhaus GmbH left the company.
2008 saw a renewed expansion with a new site of 55,000m2 , the recycling park in the Husumer Strasse including the launch of a facility for separating mixed metals.
Today Nord-Schrott employs 183 people in Flensburg on a site of 130,000m2 . The total group employs 256 people.

The smooth flow of materials across the whole world requires a sound knowledge of the complex legality of the logistics as well as the import and export business. We have acquired this knowledge in the course of many decades and master it to the very last detail.
