Disaster Response Service

For over 40 years OMI Environmental Solutions (OMIES) has provided rapid emergency response expertise to natural, as well as manmade disasters throughout the world. OMIES has responded with equipment and personnel to the World Trade Center disaster and anthrax decontamination in Manhattan, NY as well as Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Ike. OMIES can provide management services in the Command Post as well as Zone, Branch and Staging Managers. OMIES can provide waste and debris removal services utilizing roll-off boxes, excavators, track hoes, bull dozers, bobcats, forklifts and waste disposal experts.

Decontamination Services

These units are equipped with all the necessary materials to perform safe and effective decontamination operations.

National Spill Response Program Service

The OMI Environmental Services (OMIES) National Spill Response Program (NSRP) provides clients with one-call emergency response 24/7. Through the response program, OMIES will notify the closest response facility to a petroleum or hazardous material incident. Network project managers will immediately respond to the incident with specialists and equipment, assess the incident and begin control, containment and clean up. If requested, OMIES can provide an on-site project manager to oversee the clean-up process and act as the responsible party`s representative and be able to provide a single invoice to the client at the completion of the incident.

Average Most Probable Discharge Coverage Service

AMPD is defined as the Average Most Probable Discharge of the lesser of 50 barrels of oil or 1 percent of the cargo from the vessel during cargo oil transfer operations to or from the vessel or a discharge of the lesser of 50 barrels of oil or 1 percent of the volume of the worst case discharge for a facility. OPA 90 requires that a containment boom equal to twice the length of the largest vessel involved in the transfer be deployed at the site of the operation within one hour of detection of a spill; additionally skimmers and temporary storage must be on site within 2 hours.
