Open-Ocean - Dual High Pressure Pump
One of our customers had some trouble with their high pressure pump motor, while they were cruising in Fiji. A water leak in their exhaust system doused their electric motor. We were able to get them a replacement motor in just a few days, but they really didn`t like being without their watermaker. It got them to thinking about having a back up. They decided to fit another high pressure pump to ensure that they had redundancy in their high pressure system.
Open-Ocean - Hydraulic Systems
For a boat with other hydraulic systems, installing a hydraulic drive watermaker makes a lot of sense. Our hydraulic system features the same high flow rate high pressure pump that we use in our Engine Drive and AC systems. The high pressure pump is close coupled (direct driven) to a robust hydraulic motor.

Open-Ocean - Membrane
When adding an additional membrane to your existing system, we provide the brackets, fittings, and high pressure hose that you will need to get from your existing system, to one that produces water even more quickly. Our AC powered and Engine Drive systems are all set up to run a high output membrane array, producing up to 240 litres of fresh water per hour. Full capacity is designed into the system, so going from 80 to 160 litres per hour, or 160 to 240 litres per hour is just a matter of adding an additional membrane.
Open-Ocean - Pressure Relief Valve
The Pressure Relief Valve is a safety release which protects your system from an over-pressure event. While the nominal operating pressure is 800psi, the high pressure pump is capable of building to pressure to more than twice that. To protect the other system components, the pressure relief valve will open to dump the pressure, when it climbs above the safety threshold of 1050psi. Each pressure relief valve is tested and set in our factory, prior to being fit to the high pressure pump.

Open-Ocean - Carbon Fibre Membranes
Engineered, fabricated, and machined right here in New Zealand. Our super-strong, light-weight carbon fibre pressure vessels lead the industry. Our custom manufactured carbon fibre tubes are coupled with high density thermoform plastic end-caps to make up a pressure vessel that is free of corrodable metals. To the best of our knowledge, we have the lightest membrane pressure vessel in production.
