Oxford Filtration Model XS Series simplex strainers provide a simple cost-effective way to separate particle impurities from fluid flow systems. Simplex models described in this brochure are designed for applications where temporary interruption of a batch process can be permitted for basket cleaning. Where continuous, uninterrupted flow is required, our duplex strainers or self cleaning filters described in other bulletins should be used. All strainers are individually pressure tested.

For higher pressure duties we are able to offer a simplex strainer range that can extend the working pressure of the basket strainer up to a maximum of 414 Barg (6000 psi) for a ANSI 2500 rating. Manufactured in carbon steel or stainless steel and fitted with stainless steel baskets in any perf or mesh size (see simplex web page for dimensions), they can be fitted with any flange standard but most frequently ANSI 900, 1500, 2500 and SAE.

Duplex Basket Strainers are designed for applications where continuous flow must be maintained whilst cleaning filter baskets. The strainer uses integral 3 way stainless steel ball valves with PTFE seals. This design provides drop tight shutoff eliminating costly and potentially dangerous leakage into the chamber not in use which can occur in some other duplex strainer designs. This also eliminates some problems which can occur in particular suction conditions where in other designs air ingress could occur. All parts of the valve mechanism are accessible after removing the basket chamber without taking the strainer out of the pipeline.

Using the same successful design as the standard range of duplex strainers with the same 3 way stainless steel ball valve arrangement but with the housing to suit 300lb or PN40 connections

These blade style self clean filters are used for the filtration of virtually all fluids from water to very high viscosity fluids where the filter is cleaned without the operator accessing the unit or even on a completely automatic basis with no operator involvement in the cleaning operation. Our duplex basket strainer range can be semi automated in most pipe sizes and material combinations.

Oxford Filtration Ltd offer a comprehensive range of Y-type strainers from a simple cast iron threaded strainer to a large high pressure special alloy unit.

Designed for continuous removal of suspended particles from all types of liquids. Applications are in industrial plants river, lake, well or sea water for cooling, descaling, bearing lubrication, spraying, quenching and similar purposes. Pipe line sizes: 2" - 48" or larger upon application. Liquids other than water such as chemicals, acids, white water (paper mills), sewage and ammonia flushing liquor (coke plants) can also be effectively strained.

Oxford Filtration manufacture temporary basket strainers in all ratings and pipe sizes for virtually all fluid duties. Temporary strainers are designed to provide inexpensive protection for pumps, meters, valves and other equipment during commissioning and start up. Materials available as standard are carbon and stainless steel but other special alloys on request. Sizes from DN25 1" to DN600 24" are available in ratings from ANSI150 TO 2500lbs

To complement our range of self cleaners and basket filters, we can now supply slot tubes, cylinders, and specialist design wedge wire products, including Wedge Wire Screens. Wire profiles from 0.75 mm to 2.2 mm wide are available. Alloys available include; Uranus 52N, 45N, Monel 400, 316Ti, 316L, 304. Various end pieces, in either stainless or plastic can be provided.
