Accrediation Programs
ISO/IEC 17025:2005
ISO/IEC 17025:2005 is an International Standard designed for the accreditation of Testing and Calibration Laboratories. It includes quality management system requirements along with technical requirements to ensure that each laboratory is equipped to perform particular tests and calibration activities.
DoD ELAP
Perry Johnson Laboratory Accreditation, Inc. (PJLA) has been recognized by the DoD to accredit laboratories to the Department of Defense Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (DoD ELAP).
EPA NLLAP
The NLLAP allows laboratories to be recognized for their proficiency in testing of lead in paint chips, dust, or soil. PJLA is one of only three accrediting bodies recognized to award this accreditation. The National Lead Laboratory Accreditation Program (NLLAP) was established by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to allow laboratories to be recognized for their proficiency in testing of lead in paint chips, dust, or soil.
Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)
Perry Johnson Laboratory Accreditation, Inc. (PJLA) is accepting applications for accreditation to meet the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) Requirements. PJLA has added the various requirements outlined in the CPSC 16 C.F.R. to our current ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation program. Laboratories testing children’s products to these 16 C.F.R. requirements must be ISO/IEC17025: 2005 accredited by a MRA Signatory of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), such as PJLA.
ENERGY STAR
Perry Johnson Laboratory Accreditation, Inc. (PJLA) has been granted recognition by the United States Environmental Protection Agency as an accrediting body for the ENERGY STAR Testing Laboratory Accreditation Program. If you already have an ISO 17025 accreditation these protocols can be added to your current 17025 certificate. If you do not have this accreditation, you will achieve it through this program for the specific product tests relative to the ENERGY STAR Program. The ENERGY STAR program has under gone recent changes this year to better protect and authenticate the validity of the ENERGY STAR Label being applied to any product or service that earns the ENERGY STAR Label. Part of this change is a mandate requiring third party testing of a product by a competent testing laboratory that has been found to be in compliance with the specific ENERGY STAR Testing requirements for that program.
Reference Material Producer (RMP) Accreditation
Reference Material Producer Accreditation (RMP) is conducted through the utilization and implementation of ISO Guide 34: 2009 General requirements standard to assess the competence of reference material producers. This incorporates the RMP(s) ability to withhold a quality management system and ability to competently carry out the production of reference materials (i.e. competent staff, subcontractors, equipment, production, packaging, reporting, data evaluation, stability, homogeneity, uncertainty, distribution).
Field Sampling and Measurement Organization (FSMO)
Field Sampling and Measurement Organization (FSMO) Accreditation includes the oversight of field sampling and measurement organizations to perform the analysis of air, solids, water, soil, chemical wastes and biological samples. These FSMO(s) will be assessed in accordance with the TNI FSMO Standards (Volume 1 and Volume 2).
Food Testing Accreditation
ISO/IEC 17025:2005 is an international standard recognized globally. Global Food Safety Initiatives (GFSI) Programs have substantively progressed requiring producers to ensure internal or external laboratories testing their product are ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accredited. The FDA and USDA have also embraced ISO/IEC 17025:2005 as a well-recognized standard. PJLA offers ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation to food testing laboratories. This requires a full system assessment of the laboratory’s quality management system and technical requirements. PJLA utilizes recognized national and international accreditation criteria such as: The AOAC International Guidelines for Laboratories Performing Microbiological and Chemical Analyses of Food and Pharmaceutical-2010 and APLAC TC 007 Guidelines for Food Testing Laboratories to ensure laboratories performance levels are within the market accepted limits.
