Exhaust Air Treatment

Prantner - Catalytic Oxidation & Catalytic Recuperative Oxidizer

The process exhaust air is drawn in through a fan and preheated together with the purified air in a heat exchanger. The exhaust gas stream is brought to the necessary reaction temperature by an electric heater or a gas burner and then oxidized in the catalytic reactor to form carbon dioxide and water. The oxidation takes place in a specially-sized reactor. At higher pollutant concentrations (over approx. 3 g C-total/nm3) autothermal plant operation is possible. This means that no additional energy is needed to convert the pollutants. The plant is controlled and monitored via an instrument equipment system with programmable logic controller (PLC). It is also available with remote monitoring or a connection to a process control system. The plants can be equipped with explosion protection, for instance concentration monitoring systems (e.g. FID, FTA, IR, WT), detonation protection and pressure relief devices.

Prantner - Thermal Oxidation System

The Prantner thermal oxidation system (TNV) offers you an extremely efficient air purification technology. Due to its robustness, this systems technology is optimal to be used even with compounds that are complex or afflicted with contaminated substances (e.g. silicon organic compounds). The capacity of the integrated heat exchanger system reduces the operating costs significantly. With regards to the firing technology, the system is thereby accurately dimensioned for each pollutant situation. The legally required threshold values can be kept without any problems. Prantner thermal oxidation systems are used for drying processes, for painting systems, for numerous chemical production processes, for coating systems, for biogas treatment, in the food industry and more.

Prantner - Adsorptive Air Purification System

The contaminated air is passed over the fixed bed to adsorb the pollutants. The filters are standard equipped with sieve trays to hold the activated carbon. A broad range from small barrel filters to large 40” industry container filters is available. To change the loaded activated carbon, smaller filters are completely replaced. With larger container filters, the coal is renewed by means of quick-change systems.

Prantner - Regenerating Activated Carbon Filtration System

Automatic regenerating filters are used especially for concentrations of 0,5 - 20 g/Nm³ with highly chlorinated hydrocarbons such as perchlorethene. Steam regenerating filter units consist of fully automatic 2 or 3 bed activated carbon filters with an integrated control system. The filters are made from stainless steels or special materials such as PVDF or certain types of glass. Other components include the air blower, a heat exchanger and phase separator.

Prantner - Catalytic Ammonia Oxidation System

For the oxidation of air streams containing ammoniac from various processes, Prantner uses a catalytic unit that oxidises ammoniac in a gas-phase to environmentally neutral nitrogen. The amount of Nox produced is very low so that emission standards for nitrogen-oxides can be easily met. The combination of this selective catalyst with our existing recuperative or regenerative catalytic processes places with a proven, dependable system at your disposal. With our process, highly contaminated gas streams with ammoniac in them from various industries can be safely and effectively treated.

Prantner - Contaminated Exhaust Air Stream System

The contaminated exhaust air stream is passed through a process air fan to the adsorption rotor. In the adsorption sector of the rotor, the pollutants are adsorbed on an incombustible material and purified in compliance with the required threshold values for clean gas. In the desorption sector, the concentrated pollutants are again desorbed with hot gas and purified by means of the downstream catalytic oxidation. In the cool sector of the adsorption rotor, the rotor is cooled to become adsorptive again. For the purification of exhaust air from the concentration process, besides catalytic oxidation systems, Prantner offers thermal or regenerative systems. Contact our experts, we recommend you the best technology.

Prantner - Gas Scrubbers

The gas scrubbers are created as cross or countercurrent in horizontal or vertical design. In the packed columns, the exhaust air that needs to be purified is directed through the absorber in countercurrent to the washing medium. The mass exchange takes place in the packing materials zone. The packing materials are made of plastic or metal packages that have a large surface with low pressure drop. After the phase transition, the purified air streams into a droplet separator in which it is separated from the entrained liquid droplets by passing through a droplet separator zone. The washing solution is introduced through a distribution system in countercurrent to the direction of the gas flow. Then the washing solution flows downwards through the gas scrubber. The lower part of the gas scrubber is designed as a washing liquid holding tank. The washing liquid is usually removed from the tank by a pump.

Prantner - Solvent Condensation System

The Prantner solvent condensation allows highly contaminated exhaust air flows to be purified efficiently by cryocondensation. The solvents that are recuperated through the condensation process can often be led back into the production process directly. Thus, the efficiency of the proceeding is increased. The condensation proceeding is also combinable with a post-purification, e.g. with catalytic oxidation. Both application areas of these two proceedings complement each other very well. We are looking forward to give you advice on the application possibilities for your project.

Prantner - Biological Filters

Prantner biological filters are used to treat waste gases with low concentrations of pollutants. For the efficient use of a biological filter, the following requirements must be met: The pollutant must be biologically degradable. Concentration of max. 0.5 g/m³. Adequate polarity of the substance (solubility). Easily adsorbed onto a filter mass.

Water Purification

Groundwater Remediation Pumping Systems

Water from excavation pits or groundwater from contaminated sites which is afflicted with pollutants such as solvents cannot be discharged before it is purified. Besides pumping systems, sedimentation systems, mulit-layer filters, activated carbon filtration systems or strippers, Prantner also offers neutralization systems to ensure the compliance with legally required threshold values. Quickly and, if desired, with operating contract.
