Water Purification

Prantner - Solvents Elimination/ Desorption of Volatile Pollutants

Stripping is a physical process for the removal of undesired contaminants in water. Stripping out of the liquid phase works when the pollutant concentration in the gas phases is lower than the equilibrium concentration in the liquid phase system. The equilibrium is described using so-called Henry Constants. The Henry Constant is dependent on the pollutants in the system, the pressure and the temperature.

Prantner - Thermal Desorption/ Catalytic Ammonia Oxidation System

In the first stage the bonded ammonium becomes free ammoniac under alkaline conditions and is transferred into the gas phase by being stripped with a Prantner packed column desorption unit. The free ammoniac is then treated in a catalytic air treatment system in the second stage. The ammoniac loaded air stream is sucked into the unit using a blower and is pre-heated to reaction temperature using either hot exhaust gas, a gas-fired burner or an electrical heater. It is then fed into the reactor bed where the decomposition of the pollutants to elemental nitrogen and water occurs. For the oxidation, a specially chosen catalyst oxidises the gas-phase ammoniac to environmentally neutral nitrogen. The amount of NOx produced is very low, so that emission standards for nitrogen-oxides can be easily met.

Prantner - Pyrolusite Filter Material for Catalytic Deferrisation and Demanganisation in Water Treatment

For catalytic deferrisation / demanganisation to a concentration of 8 mg / liter in water Prantner recommends the filter material pyrolusite. Pyrolusite acts as an insoluble catalyst and accelerates the reaction between dissolved oxygen and iron compounds. Pyrolusite acts as a catalyst between oxygen and soluble iron compounds and produces iron hydroxide which precipitates out and is easily filtered. Because of its physical properties Pyrolusite is an excellent filter material that simply needs to be cleaned by periodically back-flushing the unit. After the material has been flushed it is once again ready to use.Because pyrolusite is not used up during the deferrisation it offers an economic advantage compared to other deferrisation-materials. Further advantages are that there is very little material lost due to abrasion, use in a wide temperature range and also that no chemicals are required to regenerate it.

Model P - Oil Separator System

Our separators, system "P", utilise in their construction the differences in density to separate water and light oils with the help of gravity. The separators are built for continuous process operation. It is not necessary to stop operation to remove the product collected.

Drinking Water Purification System

A high level of obligations is set with regards to drinking water purification techniques. Our drinking water purification systems are characterized by a high degree of technical maturity and require only little maintenance. Through the use of food-grade substances, our systems meet the stringent requirements for drinking water.

Prantner - Ion Exchange Systems

Prantner ion exchange systems were developed to remove a whole range of anions and cations from water.
