Despite the name, cold lay material is easiest to use when it is slightly warm. If left to go truly cold, it can become tough and unworkable, and with this in mind we have developed the new ‘Warm Box for Cold Lay’. This is an insulated container with thermostatic temperature control, which will keep your cold lay asphalt nice and warm!

These boxes are available in various capacities to suit different sizes of vehicle. All our demountable units use our clean-burning, gentle thermostatically-controlled gas heating system.

The Handylift Hydraulic is Proteus’ most versatile lifter, with a huge array of keys and accessories available to tackle the more unusual covers that other lifters simply won’t lift. We can also tailor the lifter itself to suit individual needs, altering frame and wheel sizes if required.

Primarily designed for sewer covers with two keyholes, the Handylift Swinger is an innovative, lightweight manhole lifter that is portable for even the most ‘petite’ of engineers. It has a safe working load of 1 tonne provided by its powerful screwjacks, and yet weighs less than 18kg.

The Handylift Swinger BT Spec is a specialised kit specifically designed to simplify the lifting of BT carriageway lids. In addition to the 2-keyhole lifting ability of the standard Swinger, the BT Spec features a unique patented locking plate to interface perfectly with 4-keyhole carriageway covers. It comes complete with arced wheel runners for a smoother ‘swinging’ action, four lifting keys, and the aforementioned locking plate.

Lightweight concrete duvets are the latest insulation innovation from Proteus, and have proven effective in dramatically reducing winter curing times. The duvets also allow customers to optimise cement content instead of being forced to add extra cement in cold weather. In addition, the waterproofing and insulation that work so effectively in winter also protect curing in hot summer weather, particularly on external works.

Bituslide is the ‘asphalt release agent’ from Proteus. Its ideal use is for coating the back of 8-wheelers before loading at the asphalt plant to enable bituminous materials to discharge freely and without sticking.

Bitukleen No.3 is an eco-friendly cleaning fluid for removing bitumen from rakes, shovels, paving machines, vehicle bodies or any other metallic surface. It is primarily made from rapeseed oil and is highly biodegradable.
