Florida & Arizona Outdoor Exposure Testing
Q-Lab offers outdoor exposure testing programs at our internationally recognized benchmark locations in Florida and Arizona. Weathering exposures at these sites are not only realistic, they are also accelerated. The subtropical, sunny, humid and warm conditions in Florida make it the ideal climate for testing the durability of materials in outdoor environments. Arizona's high levels of UV and very hot temperatures make it the perfect location for testing exceptionally durable materials. Test services at both locations use a variety of specimen mounting and exposure techniques to meet a wide array of weathering and corrosion test methods.
Q-TRAC Natural Sunlight Concentrator Testing
Q-TRAC natural sunlight concentrator testing is available at Q-Lab's Arizona facility. It gives super fast results like accelerated laboratory testers, but instead uses actual sunlight as the light source. It is exceptionally useful for highly durable materials with exceptionally long lifetime expectations. The Q-TRAC system uses an array of 10 mirrors to reflect and concentrate full spectrum sunlight onto the test specimens. Furthermore the Q-TRAC system automatically tracks the sun throughout the day in both azimuth (horizontally) and elevation (vertically). The combination of mirrors and tracking maximizes the amount of exposure that your test specimen receives. The Q-TRAC outdoor tester also has a water spray system that can be set to perform various cycles to simulate Florida weathering or create thermal shock. Accelerated Laboratory Testing
For those who are interested in accelerated weathering, light stability, and corrosion testing but are not yet ready to purchase QUV, Q-SUN, or Q-FOG test equipment, we offer a full range of contract laboratory testing services in our fully-equipped laboratories in Florida and Germany. Q-Lab can also act as an unbiased third party wherever third-party verification of test results is required. Our labs are ISO 17025 accredited. Q-Lab's wide variety of testing chambers allows us to perform most common industry standards, such as: ASTM, ISO, BSI, DIN, JIS, SAE, AATCC and more. Custom testing programs are available. Color, Gloss, and Mechanical Testing
Our staff members at our facilities in Florida, Arizona and Germany are actively involved in standards organizations and are extremely familiar with evaluation techniques and reporting scales. Visual evaluation reports detail all defects observed, including cracking, blistering, peeling, chalking, adhesion, color change and corrosion. All visual ratings are made under standard lighting conditions to provide accurate, repeatable results. A complete test program often includes other special services or handling. Common services include washing, polishing, scribing and specimen weighing. Q-Lab can also visually record weathering and lightfastness changes through digital photography. Evaluations and measurements can be scheduled on any time-frame. Reports are used to chart the time/degradation progress in both hard copy and electronic data formats. Q-Lab testers are remarkably reliable and easy to service. Our goal is to produce testers that can be serviced by our customers, not testers that are designed to generate profit from their repair. However, we are committed to providing whatever support our customers need, wherever they are in the world. We provide field service by our own highly trained employees or worldwide representative network agents, when customers require it. We also provide fast help desk support by phone and e-mail when an in-person service call is not required. We expend considerable engineering effort every year to constantly make our testers easier, simpler, and more useful for our customers.
