Introducing the YOUNG Model 86004 next generation 2D Ultrasonic Anemometer. The sensor offers high performance and low power consumption in a compact size. It is ideal for the most demanding wind sensing applications. For extended cold weather use, the 86004 features thermostatically controlled heaters in transducer and housing surfaces.

The Wind Monitor is a high performance wind sensor. Rugged, corrosion-resistant construction makes it ideal for a wide range of wind measuring applications. The wind speed sensor is a four blade helicoid propeller. Propeller rotation produces an AC sine wave voltage signal. The wind direction sensor is a rugged yet lightweight vane. Vane angle is sensed by a precision potentiometer. Constructed of UV stabilized plastic with stainless steel and anodized aluminum fittings, the sensor mounts on standard 1 inch pipe. Model 05103V offers calibrated 0-5 VDC outputs, Model 05103L provides a calibrated 4-20 mA current signal for each channel.

The Wind Monitor MA is an accurate and reliable wind sensor specifically designed for the rigors of the marine environment.The wind speed sensor is a four blade helicoid propeller. Unique transducer produces a pulse signal without electrical contacts or slip rings. The wind direction sensor is a durable molded vane. Vane angle is sensed by a precision potentiometer housed in a sealed chamber. All materials are carefully selected for corrosion resistance and maximum durability in the harsh marine environment. Ceramic bearings are used throughout. The instrument mounts on standard 1 inch pipe. Separate signal conditioning circuits are available to provide voltage or current signals when needed (see below). Each is supplied in a weatherproof junction box with mounting hardware.

The Aspirated Radiation Shield provides maximum sensor protection from incoming short wave and outgoing long wave radiation.  The shield employs a triple walled intake tube and multiple canopy shades to effectively isolate the sensor from precipitation and solar radiation. A continuous duty DC blower provides constant flow of ambient air over the sensor. A tachometer output may be used to monitor blower operation.  A variety of temperature and relative humidity probes are available.

The Multi-Plate Radiation Shield protects temperature and relative humidity sensors from error-producing solar radiation and precipitation. Compact size and light weight make this shield useful for many applications.

The YOUNG Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge meets the specifications of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). The design uses a proven tipping bucket mechanism for simple and effective rainfall measurement. The bucket geometry and material are specially selected for maximum water release, thereby reducing contamination and errors. Catchment area of 200 cm² and measurement resolution of 0.1 mm meet the recommendations of the WMO. Leveling screws and bullseye level are built in for easy and precise adjustment in the field. Measured precipitation is discharged through a collection tube for verification of total rainfall. Model 52202 is heated for operation in cold temperatures. An unheated version, 52203, is available for use in moderate climates. To discourage birds from perching on the funnel rim, accessory bird wire assembly may be attached to the gauge.

The Wind Tracker wind speed and wind direction indicator offers big performance in a compact display. Wind speed is displayed in your choice of units: KNOTS, MPH, KM/H, M/S. Maximum wind speed is also shown. Wind direction information is clearly displayed on a circular compass pattern of LEDs. Multicolored segments give a quick visual indication of current direction and variability. Front panel brightness control allows adjustment for best viewing in any light. A variety of inputs and outputs including 4-20 mA, Serial (RS-485), and Voltage are standard on the Wind Tracker. Alarms for both wind speed and wind direction are standard. The Wind Tracker is very compact for easy mounting on vertical bulkheads or wall surfaces.

The YOUNG ResponseONE™ Ultrasonic Anemometer accurately measures wind speed and wind direction without moving parts.  The IP66 rated construction enables reliable operation in severe environments.  Standard digital serial output formats provided include SDI-12, NMEA, and ASCII text.  Output may be continuously provided or, to conserve power, polled output may be used.  RS-232 or RS-485 serial format options enable direct integration with YOUNG displays, marine NMEA systems, data loggers or other compatible serial devices. The ResponseONE features durable, corrosion-resistant construction and installs on readily available 1 inch (IPS) pipe.  Wiring connections are made in a convenient weather-proof junction box.  Special connectors and cables are not required.
