Redragon - High Vacuum Degasifier System

The HVD series of degasifiers uses the only known method for reducing all three primary contaminants by treating the transformer oil; the thermo-vacuum process. Transformer oil is drawn in to the degasifier by means of low pressure created either by an inlet pump of a vacuum pump or combination or both. The oil is heated to reduce its viscosity and allow it flow through the rest of the system at a lower pressure. A magnetic strainer typically removes coarse particles larger than 20 microns. This is the first stage required to remove the solid contamination. The filtered oil is fed into a vacuum chamber where, due to the reduced pressure above the liquid, dissolved water is vaporized. The reduced pressure also facilitates the removal of any entrained gases in the oil.

Redragon - Clay Polishing Systems

Adds value to reclaimed oils by improving color and reducing or removing odors and sulphur. The CPS-series of clay polishing systems from Redragon provides an economical alternative to hydrogen treatment plants as a means of adding value to re-refined lube oil. Designed as an add-on or retrofit to wipe film evaporators these units are equally applicable to other types of oil refineries as a final polishing stage. The CPS is based upon banks of active columns that contain an absorptive clay. The physical charasteristics of the clay allow it to be re-activated once saturated, and thereby permitting several hundred cycles to be run before being replaced.

Redragon - Dechlorination System

Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are man-made chemicals that were first synthesized in the 1880s. They have excellent properties (fire-resistant, highly stable, insulating, low volatility) that define them to be ideal for use in electrical transformer. Generically known as Askarel, they were found to be toxic and their by-products can be fatal. However the very properties that make them so desirable as a medium in electrical transformer and capacitors make their disposal very difficult. Production of PCBs was banned in North America in 1977 and most of the approximately 650,00 ton manufactured has been accounted for. The manually operated PCB system is skid-mounted and has a footprint that is conductive to mounting a trailer for mobile operation. It is attractively priced to appeal to the smaller utility or service company.

Redragon - SF6 Recovery Unit

In the electrical industry the gas is used primarily in circuit breakers, puffer breakers (where SF6 used in place of air, oil or vacuum), switches and gas Insulated transmission lines. SF6 does have a number of disadvantages that are becoming more and more critical to an environmentally-aware population. Sulphur Hexaflouride is considered to be a fully flourinated compound (FFC). Since FFC`s have atmospheric lifetimes of up to 50,000 Years, these potent greenhouse gases could contribute significantly and, essentially, permanently to global warming if emissions continue to grow. If CO2 has a global warming potential of 1, then SF6has a global warming potential some 25,000 times higher.

Redragon - SF6 Refill Unit

The Redragon RFU is a portable handcart (with optional storage cylinder) designed to evacuate, vacuum and refill small sulphur hexafluoride switchgear and breakers. It operates using a single 3-way valve allow easy switching between evacuation (vacuuming) mode and filling mode. It has an Integral 6 CFM vacuum pump (10 CFM is optional) capable of producing a blank-off vacuum of less than 20 microns or 0.02 Torr. The Unit is available in a 220V, 50Hz single phase version as well as a 120V, 60Hz single phase version and is complete with 10 foot of power cord.

Redragon - Oil Pumping Unit

OPU pump units are designed to operate as either standalone units (manual or PLC controlled from local station) or integrated into sophisticated SCADA systems sitting on top of Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs that can be remotely controlled via Ethernet/Devicenet or wireless networks. Standard units incorporate self-sealing couplings such as Avery-Hardoll or quick disconnect such as Camlock, which are available in gunmetal, brass or stainless steel material. Pipework is typically carbon steel or stainless steel and all welding is undertaken by ASW-certified welders. Pipe manifolds are either hydrostatically- or pneumatically-tested to national standards and any incorporated tankage is designed and manufactured to ASME standards.

Redragon - Online Tap Changer Filters

The OLTC series of online tap changer filters is used to remove particulate and water from insulating or dielectric oils in a load tap changer. It is designed to be permanently attached to a oil filled electrical device such as tap changers, transformer, or circuit breakers. With the use of a suitable cartridge acids can also be removed from the oil. The OLTC filter is controlled by a micro PLC whose operation can be optimized be the user for individual tap changers.
