Based in Christchurch, New Zealand, Resource Recycling Technologies (NZ) Limited (`RRT`) is the largest privately owned metal recycling plant in the South Island. Covering almost 5 acres RRT is conveniently located to Port Lyttelton and has been constructed to ensure that the scrap metal is stored and processed in a manner which complies in all respects with the Resource Management Act 1993. The directors believe that the new RRT plant represents the most environmentally responsible scrap metal businessin New Zealand. Metals can produce toxic chemicals and other dangerous substances in the recycling process. At RRT these dangerous products are handled to ensure there are no spillages, toxic leaching or pollution of any kind. Purpose built wash down drains; concrete landings and a concrete chamber processing system have been constructed in accordance with environmentally safe design standards and in accordance with the RRT philosophy.
