River Research & Design, Inc. (R2D), provide specialized assistance to other engineering firms, government agencies, and private individuals in the areas of complex hydraulic and sediment transport modeling, stream rehabilitation, and bed and bank stabilization activities. Originally all those forming the company were also employed in the Hydraulics Laboratory of the U.S. Army Waterways Experiment Station (now Engineering Research and Development Center). In the intervening years various founders have left the Corps and now work full time in the consulting industry. Stream restoration, multii-dimensional modeling of hydraulics and sediment transport, stream bank protection and fluvial geomorphology. Innovative bank protection methods coupled with hard toes to provide long term bank protection.
