The Flood Expo has been rescheduled to the 3rd - 4th November 2020. The decision comes after a long period of time working with the venue organisers at the NEC and many other associations and bodies to ensure that an environment can be developed which is both safe and conducive to doing business.  We have been working closely with all event industry stakeholders developing an industry-wide ‘All Secure Standard’ alongside the UK government that will allow organised industry gatherings take place again.

Founded by the Environment Media Group, these prestigious awards recognise individual success stories, outstanding team efforts and original approaches to sustainable resource management. Entrants have until midday on Thursday 19th March to submit their 500 word entry for the judges’ consideration. With a broad selection of categories to choose from, those ahead of their field are strongly encouraged to take part in the recycling ‘Oscars’. Last year’s new award – Circular Economy Success – was a great hit and is sure to attract a host of fascinating entries for 2015.

Open to public, private and third sector organisations, the annual Zero Waste Awards recognise all types of initiative that prevent waste at source. From supply chain collaborations to innovative processes and business models, leaders in their field are invited to receive recognition amongst their peers. The Zero Waste Awards are organised by the Environment Media Group, the company behind letsrecycle.com. Recognising that sustainability is a team effort, not a contest, the Zero Waste Awards aren’t competitive and entrants are judged purely on their merits. Previous winners have included KP Snacks, New York Bakery, FareShare and Portakabin, with hundreds more recognised for their work towards the Zero Waste goal. The recognition luncheon on 9 April 2015 will again be held at the 12th Century Coombe Abbey in Warwickshire, where winners are each presented with a trophy. Resource Association Chief Executive, Ray Georgeson, will welcome delegates to the one-day programme, before handing over to keynote speaker, Mark Rowney. As a Research Fellow with the Institute of Public Policy Research, Mark will launch a new report: ‘Resources, Jobs and Growth’. Supported by the Resource Association, the document is set to outline research findings on the circular economy. It will examine a range of proposals that could be adopted to achieve better use of resources, sustainable job creation and genuine fiscal development. It also promises to provide a catalyst that will stimulate further debate at the event and ongoing dialogue with politicians thereafter.

The impact of end of waste regulations, designed to divert waste materials from landfill, will be addressed at the End of Waste and Quality Protocols Conference. This specialist forum for businesses within the waste and recycling industry takes place on 30th January 2014.
