A water treatment plant in Texas, USA has ordered hundreds of Rotork’s K-TORK rotary vane actuators for its ultrafiltration system.

San Felipe Springs Water Treatment Plant is based in the City of Del Rio, Texas. It is supplied by water from the nearby East and West San Felipe Springs and uses an ultrafiltration system to process the water. The centre has an incoming flow of 18.2 million gallons per day. The treated water serves the population of Del Rio and the nearby La

Rotork multi-turn electric actuators have been installed to control rainwater retention along a new road which has been built in Poland.

CK range actuators powered using solar panels are operating knife gate valves to control the emptying of rainwater storage tanks along the road in the central Polish city of Kalisz. This is the first time the CK has been used with photovoltaics in Poland.

The project has connected two existing roads to improve links and communication in one o

SAGD technology is used to extract bitumen oil from 800 metres below the surface of the earth. This process is a form of steam stimulation in which two horizontal wells drill into an oil reservoir, one a few metres above the other. High pressure steam is continuously injected into the upper wellbore to heat the oil and reduce its viscosity. The heated oil then drains into the lower wellbore where it can be pumped out. The water and oil are taken to a separation facility, where the water is th

The Anglian region stretches from the Humber estuary, north of Grimsby, to the Thames estuary, and from Buckinghamshire to Lowestoft on the east coast. Over 112,000 kilometres of water and sewer pipes supply and transport water and waste water to and from the 1,257 water and water recycling treatment works.

Under the new agreement Rotork will provide intelligent electric IQ actuators and modular electric CK actuators. Rotork will be one of only two companies to provide actuation solut

The plant treats water from two separate sources, one for surface water from the surface of a lake and the other for groundwater from the well fields. It is the only municipal drinking water plant owned and operated by the county and has the capacity to process of 84 million gallons per day (mgd) for over 350,000 residents, with up to 30 mgd treated in the separate groundwater treatment basin.

The actuators control the flow of surface water in and out of the membrane system. This includ

More than 300 Rotork actuators have been specified for use on an Indian pipeline almost 700 km in length.

The pipeline, which is currently under construction, will stretch across southern India and transport supplies from a key refinery. Due to the large scale of the project, a large number of actuators are required and Rotork’s CMA, IQ and SI ranges have all been specified.

The customer selected the CML-1500 and CML-3000 actuators primarily for fail-safe motor operated

The City of Chicago Department of Water Management specified over 300 Rotork intelligent IQ actuators combined with IW quarter-turn worm gearboxes and over 200 IQT part-turn actuators to replace water hydraulic cylinders at the Eugene Sawyer Water Purification Plant. Formally known as the South Water Purification Plant, the site was renamed in 2016 in honour of Chicago’s former mayor, Eugene Sawyer, and supplies drinking water to the population of Chicago.

The YT-3700 and YT-3750 pneumatic smart positioners employ continuous monitoring and graphic display of valve position, set point target over time and internal circuit board temperature over time.

With single and double-acting configurations available, they provide reliable control of pneumatic valve systems for linear and rotary applications.

Valve diagnostic information to NE107 standard is provided, with Hart® 7 communication protocol included as standard and a display

Rotork’s IQ intelligent actuators with MTW multi-turn worm gearboxes play a critical role which enables this lock to operate.

The lock is located in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and incorporates radial gates each weighing 14 tonnes that rise above the passing canal boats to allow entry and exit.

The Rotork actuators and their gearboxes have been installed to raise and lower the 14 tonne rising radial lock gates at each end of the lock. The actuators drives two

Rotork’s CVL1500 and CVL5000 actuators now control the supply of the spray water that is used as an emergency quench in the condensers should the steam turbine trip. The CVL actuator installation was part of a project to improve equipment reliability and obsolescence of older plant.

RWE’s choice of Rotork for this essential part of the smooth running of the turbines at Didcot B Power Station shows the importance of effective, reliable actuation technology.
