Degaser - Model 200 - Chlorine Based Degassing Tablets for Aluminium
A range of chemical degassing and degassing cum grain refining agents for aluminum and its alloys. DEGASER products are compacted tablets in different sizes to facilitate treatment of various melt sizes . They are plunged into aluminium melts for degassing. Even under the best melting conditions, it is often impossible to prevent hydrogen gas from entering the melt which finally gives rise to porosity in the cast products. It is therefore necessary to remove as much of hydrogen from the melt as possible prior to pouring. DEGASER range of products remove the dissolved hydrogen by diffusion process. Degassing with these products is superior to flushing with chlorine gas which is associated with problems of space, equipment, corrosion, health hazards, etc. Some of the degassing products contain grain refining elements also and these products function as combined degassing and grain refining agents.

The crystallization of aluminium into coarse columnar, equiaxed or dendritic grains is undesirable. Coarse particles tend to cluster and lead to poor feeding characteristics and lower tensile strength and wear resistance properties. Scot-AlTi5B1 addition helps overcome these problems by refining the grain structure of the metal with the help of titanium and boron.

Logas comprises a granual material strongly bonded and formed into a weighed unit with high surface area to volume ratio to ensure maximum contact area with liquid metal. PURPOSE OF USE:- Logas is used for degassing of molten copper and copper based alloys. In copper and copper base alloys, dissolved hydrogen and cuprous oxide combine to form water vapor by steam reaction. The solubility of hydrogen in copper and its alloy melts reduces as the temperature falls until the gas attains the solid solubility. The hydrogen which is expelled from solution tends to combine with cuprous oxide levels are very low after deoxidation, hydrogen may still be problematic and it is preferable to reduce it to negligible proportions.

Scottish - Hexachloroethane White Crystaline Powder
Min. 99.8% Pure White Crystaline Powder. Hexachloroethane is a white to slightly off-white crystalline non-flammable solid which sublimes on heating . It has a smell somewhat resembling camphor. Hexachloroethane is virtually insoluble in water, but soluble in most organic solvents, such as trichloroethylene and other chlorinated hydrocarbons, ethyl alcohol, ethyl ether, benzene etc. Although generally an inert material, hexachloroethane is decomposed by red heat to perchloroethylene and chlorine.
