UBM Sinoexpo: A total service & solution provider through our cutting-edge trade exhibitions, business events, print, B2B portals and database services. Shanghai UBM Sinoexpo International Exhibition Co Ltd (UBM Sinoexpo) is a professional joint-venture exhibition enterprise between Shanghai Sinoexpo International Exhibition Ltd (established in 1992) and UBM Asia Ltd, a division of UBM plc. based in London. We focus our business in mainland China and embrace “BE THE BEST” as the corporate value and mission. Empowered with in-depth knowledge and expertise, our international team of professionals applies best practices in organising international exhibitions and conferences through our global network and collaboration with partners, including government bodies, trade associations/organisations and media.
Our products and services cover six main sectors, namely HDD (Hotel, Shop, Building/Ceramics, Design/Deco, Lighting, Hotel Furniture and Fine Food / Coffee & Tea), Cleaning, Boating & Lifestyle, Ingredients (Pharmaceutical/Food), Furniture (Furniture/Manufacturing & Supply) and Wine. We have 34 international exhibitions with a total exhibition area of over 700,000 sqm, six B2B portals and two printed magazines. Our flagship events such as Furniture China, Hotelex Shanghai, CPhI China and the China International Boat Show have grown to be Asia’s leading trade events of their kinds, attracting mass attendance of exhibitors and visitors worldwide. Based in Shanghai, UBM Sinoexpo also operates three regional offices in Beijing, Guangzhou and Chengdu in China.
UBM Sinoexpo follows the pace of the global trend in the exhibition industry through several innovations such as the concept of bringing 'HDD' — Hotelex+Design & Deco; 'Expo-Store' — which uses the concept of 'one visit with multiple outcomes' by combining the exhibition venue with actual stores in town; and “Design Week”. Thereby effectively connecting the show and its activities with buyers, exhibitors, visitors and retailers.
Our mission: Be the Best
Our mission and value is to provide the best products possible and the best service possible, and to create an excellent future together with our clients through constant innovation and perseverance. 'Be the Best' is our goal and this serves as the driving force and the compass that guides our staff in their daily work. This spirit also inspires everyone in the organisation to pursue excellence, self-transcendence and self-realisation. Although many of our products and services have helped us become a market leader, our mission to 'Be the Best' requires that we face our future development and growth with 'a driving attitude'.
1. Online Exhibitor Manual
We're trying to eliminate printed Exhibitor Manuals; some shows are 100% online, others have greatly reduced their print numbers. This also means that all order forms sent to contractors, venues, suppliers are online as well.
2. Show Directory on CD
We started to introduce show directory on CD from beginning of 2008 at one of our events and the plan is to extend this to the other events.
3. Web development support
We are making more extensive use of our multi-lingual email broadcast system to reduce the number of printed matters. Besides, We open our e-Invitation system to our exhibitors and encourage them to send electronic invitations of our shows to their buyers.
1. Reduce use of paper
We encourage our staff to use recycle paper for printing internal documents and receiving faxes. We also share documents via online systems and shared drives to reduce the necessity of printing them out.
2. Reduce emission of carbon dioxide and heat
Working together with the office proprietor, we encourage smart-casual wearing at office, which allows higher temperature and reduces the carbon dioxide and heat produced by air conditioners.
3. Save electricity
We remind our staff of turning down their computers and lights when leaving the office to prevent waste of electricity.
1. Alliance with venues and contractors
We are working with the venues to have more permanent signage options and less banners, and see how we can improve recycling rates; contractors to try and use more environmentally friendly and reusable materials.
2. Alliance with sister companies and branch offices
We are sharing information with our colleagues in sister companies and are trying to adopt best practice across our respective shows; in China we will use advances made in China office to introduce to our other offices.
