All industries require consent to discharge their wastewater to sewer by Water Companies. In the case of discharge to land, river or sea this consent is governed by the Environment Agency in England, Natural Resources Wales or SEPA, Scotland.

With over 25 years’ experience we specialise in cost-effective chemical dosing systems adapted to any site requirements. From small balancing tanks to fully integrated systems with full aeration mixers and proportional pH dosing control. Water companies are increasingly targeting businesses that breach their pH consent, as unbalanced effluent entering the sewer network can erode their sewer pipes, particularly from food manufacturers that have a high organic waste stream which decays to acid. CIP or other caustic cleaning processes also require pH balancing before discharge.

Smart Storm specialise in bioaugmentation treatment plants which are similar to SAFF plants but use targeted bacterial strain to enhance the efficacy of the plant.

DAF plants use chemicals, aeration and mechanical scrappers to remove dissolved and suspended solids and oils and grease from wastewater streams. They can be up to 90% efficient but are unsuitable for liquid only applications.

Wedge wire or run-down screens are ideal for pre-screening out solids before they reach the treatment plant. They have no moving parts and self-clean and require little or no maintenance.
