An options appraisal is a great tool for everyone, if you don’t know here to start or you know what you want and you need the costs and timeframes, using our vast experience we can produce an appraisal which answers your questions. We always recommend discussing your site with us first, this gives us all a chance to find out if an Options Appraisal can be carried out with the information you already have, and also asseses if it is a worth while investment. Our Remedial Options Appraisals are designed to answer your questions and identify-appropriate routes forward (including ‘do nothing’), risks and benefits for each route, cost, timeframes.

This can be the simplest solution to contaminated land, excavate, haul and dispose of the contaminated soils. Life used to be that simple before the landfill tax escalator was introduced and environmental responsibilities started to grow, soil disposal is still a viable option, it’s just no where near as cheap as it used to be. The route to soil disposal starts with classifying the waste, however something we can do for you.

The solution to many contamination issues can be found in natural (biological) processes, this is called Bioremediation.  Bioremediation involves enhancing / controlling biological processes  to reduce the contaminants of concern to target levels. Bioremediation is widely used to remediate organic contaminants (e.g. fuel and fuel oils), in general bioremediation is a significantly more economic option to straight disposal, however it can take anything from 1 month to several months to carry out.  Its suitability is based on the contaminants, site conditions, and target levels.  If you want to find out if bioremediation is an option for your site then you should phone or e-mail us, we’re always happy to discuss a site with you.

Pump & Treat is one of the more common forms of groundwater treatment, pumping groundwater through a treatment system, then discharging either back to ground, or into the drains. Treatment systems vary significantly in type and size, the specifications depend upon the contamaints which need to be treated, the rate the water needs to be treated at, and utlimately your time constraints and budget.  There are a large range of systems available from ‘carbon filters’ to ‘reverse osmosis’ , it’s just a case of finding the right one for your site.
