In recent years Solexperts specialised in in-situ gas measurements both in the gas phase and dissolved in groundwater. In France, a very successful cooperation was established with the Institut Georessources of the University of Lorraine and in Switzerland with the ETH and EAWAG. Several systems have been successfully used in various rock laboratory experiments and CBM drilling. For the developed gas measurement technology, Solexperts filed a patent in November 2022 (EP 22210240, Probe and method for gas analysis in boreholes) and registered two trademarks; SurfMoG® for near-surface applications and SysMoG® for measurements in (deep) boreholes. SysMoG-GH₂ASBUSTERS, a unique sampling system for dissolved gases in boreholes up to 1500 m, was developed for the exploration of natural hydrogen deposits.

Geochemical processes are very important for the storage of radioactive waste in deep geological repositories. The chemical composition of host rock and groundwater is the subject of many investigations. Influences of the construction and operation of a repository on geochemistry are clarified in rock laboratory experiments. As part of its long-term cooperation with Nagra and Andra (Agence national pour la gestion des déchets radioactifs, France), Solexperts developed new instrumentation and experimental techniques for in-situ geochemical experiments.

What are the flow paths of groundwater contamination? What are the hydrogeological parameters of contaminated sites and landfill sites? To determine these values, we use state-of-the-art testing and monitoring systems. This technology is now also being used in hydrogeological investigations of geothermal energy projects and in the search for suitable storage rock for the storage of CO₂.

In-situ tests are carried out as part of preliminary hydrogeological investigations to plan efficient drainage systems for tunnel, dam or civil engineering projects or to better assess the risk of possible water inrush. Solexperts offers high-quality equipment and procedures for hydrogeological in-situ exploration. In addition to the classic Lugeon and pumping tests, we also carry out packer pumping tests, slug, pulse and drill stem tests.

Plate load tests are used to determine the rock deformability for construction work in bedrocks. Large load plates are used which cover several fracture systems for representative test results in fractured rock. If possible, the opposite tunnel side is used as abutment of the test plate. In this way, double plate load tests can additionally be performed.
