Southwest Ground-water Consultants, Inc. (SGC) services
Water Supply Studies / Hydrogeologic Investigations Services
SGC has a unique understanding of the physical and regulatory framework as it relates to the conduct of water supply studies and hydrologic investigations in Arizona, and more specifically in the Salt River Valley. SGC’s expertise is based on our solid understanding of local hydrogeologic conditions as a result of extensive study in the Phoenix AMA over the last 20 years and individual experiences exceeding 25 years. These experiences include the drilling and testing of hundreds of wells, and the completion of numerous groundwater flow modeling studies in support of ADWR Assured Water Supply Determinations. Our relationship and reputation with ADWR and other regulatory agencies is unparalleled and results in quality science for cost effective agency approvals.
Well Design, Construction Management & Testing Services
SGC’s team of professionals have extensive experience in the siting, permitting, drilling, installation and testing of all types of production wells ranging from small diameter wells completed in bedrock to large diameter municipal wells completed in basin fill deposits more than 1,500 feet deep. Collectively, SGC’s team of professionals have managed several hundred well installation projects using a variety of drilling methods. The types of wells include: production wells, exploration wells, monitor wells, and recharge wells. The various drilling methods include: dual rotary, reverse circulation, direct mud/air circulation, downhole hammer, cable-tool, and sonic.
Aquifer Recharge Services
SGC specializes in hydrogeology as it relates to the development of groundwater resources and the recharge and recovery of water through percolation ponds, vadose zone wells, and ASR wells. SGC’s expertise in characterization of the underlying aquifer and vadose zone through infiltration testing, borehole and well installation and testing, and groundwater flow modeling is a critical component in obtaining USF and APP permits. SGC has prepared numerous USF and APP permits working successfully with the agencies, project engineers, and clients.
Contaminant Investigations / Regulatory Permitting & Compliance Services
SGC has performed numerous environmental projects throughout Arizona. The types of projects vary ranging from routine Phase I ESAs conducted pursuant to due diligence procedures set forth under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) to complex multi-million dollar projects involving complete characterization, treatment, and closure of federal superfund sites.
Additional Services
In Arizona’s arid environment, the goal of most hydrogeologic projects is water supply acquisition. Occasionally, conditions exist where a water surplus presents localized problems. In these situations, SGC can assist with aquifer dewatering. Whatever your hydrogeologic and environmental project needs, SGC has experienced professionals who can get the job done right. And if your project involves litigation, SGC professionals having many years of experience can provide expert witness testimony in the courtroom.
