Better Sample Care
Even the most advanced analysis of a sample becomes worthless if there is the slightest doubt about its integrity or identity. Therefore, integrity, safety and traceability of samples play a central role in our instrument innovation. Our aim is to provide front-end sample handling and separation systems that effectively eliminate every instrumental source of analytical errors caused by sample degradation, sample contamination, false sample identification,  sample cross contamination, etc.  Spark Holland front-end systems can be trusted as offering the best possible sample care one can get in front of the LC or LC-MS analyzer.

OEM business is in our genes
After almost 30 years experience and over 25,000 instruments delivered to OEM partners, OEM business has become second nature to us. Few instrument companies are as specialized as us in the customization of hard- and software according to their customers’ needs. We aim to be a specialist OEM partner in all aspects – from joint R&D and software integration all the way through to comprehensive service support and reliable product delivery. We invest heavily in innovation of front-end instrumentation and in the skills of our development staff, striving to be experts not only in instrumental design, but also in separation science, solid phase extraction and  sample handling.

Spark has evolved to be a world-class provider of innovative sample introduction, extraction and separation technology for analytical systems such as HPLC, MS, GC and NMR. Its installed base of OEM autosamplers will this year exceed the 25,000 mark, while more than 1000 automated online SPE systems are now operational around the globe.

Spark pro-actively gathers customer feedback and seeks to understand the typical problems in the analytical lab. This allows focus on product development towards method robustness, reproducibility, throughput and reliability - all serving the united goal of increased lab efficiency, better economics and last but not the least important, ease of operation.

30 years of innovation in HPLC autosampling and online SPE

In 1982 Willem (Wim) Smink and Ger de Pee started 'Smink and de Pee Analytical Requirements Klijndijk' or SPARK Holland. This event was caused by the bankruptcy of Kipp Analytica in 1982, where Wim and Ger were Sales & Marketing manager and R&D manager respectively. Kipp Analytica was established in 1977 in Emmen by Kipp & Zonen and Enraf Nonius (now Delft Instruments) to develop systems for GC and HPLC. Kipp had just completed the development of an advanced automated gradient LC-UV system, when investors decided to stop funding the company. Wim, who was already working on serious sales opportunities in the HPLC market, decided to invest in a start up and asked Ger to join.

Starting in Wim's garage, the company has since then evolved into a world-class provider of innovative sample introduction, extraction and separation technology for analytical systems such as HPLC, MS, GC and NMR. Our installed base of OEM autosamplers will this year (2010) exceed the 25,000 mark, while more than 1,000 automated online SPE systems are now operational around the globe.

Our mission is to provide the analytical laboratory with innovative sample introduction, extraction and separation technology, enabling seamless integration of automated front-end sample preparation into analytical systems such as HPLC, MS, GC and NMR. By pro-actively gathering customer feedback we seek to understand the analytical problems in these areas. This knowledge directs our research and development. We aim to market our technology through OEM partnering as customized system components, and through value added resellers as a provider of unique technology.

As an OEM partner we seek to enhance our customers’ competitive advantage through continuous innovation, high product quality and best-in-class delivery performance. We are willing to customize our products to meet our customers’ needs.

As a provider of innovative sample introduction, extraction and separation technology, we truly seek to support our distribution partners in order to help them to solve their customers’ analytical problems and this does not stop with the delivery of an instrument.
