Integrity - Autosampler
State-of-the-art injection technology is important, naturally. And rapid sample turn-around time is very helpful, of course. Certainly, large sample capacity is very convenient, no doubt. But this all becomes irrelevant if you have only the slightest doubts about the integrity of the samples that you injected! Our generic autosampler for HPLC and LC-MS using state-of-the-art injection technology with fast injection and wash cycles. Efficient, multi-solvent needle wash virtually eliminates carry-over. ALIAS™ handles well plates and sample vials, either open or sealed, and provides true 4°C sample cooling. Cartridges
Spark - Cartridges
The online SPE cartridge for Symbiosis™/ Prospekt-2 / ACE systems has been specially designed for online elution to the HPLC column. Dimensions are optimized to combine high extraction capacity with small elution volumes. Standard dimensions are 10 mm in length and 2 mm inner diameter, but 10 x 1 mm is also available. Naturally, the cartridge will resist typical HPLC system pressures (max 300 bar). All common SPE sorbents are available in the Prospekt cartridge format. Therefore, existing SPE methods can be transferred to the Prospekt without additional SPE method development.

Dried blood spot (DBS) sampling is an emerging technology for bioanalysis, especially useful in the clinical and pharmaceutical laboratory, offering easy sample collection, transport and storage. Our revolutionary DBS Autosampler maintains the integrity of the sample through automation, offering time and cost savings. Innovative patented Flow-through desorption technology (FTD™)* provides direct elution of DBS from cards, offering not only consistent quality, while eliminating the inconsistency of tedious manual disc punching or costly robotics, but also allowing the option of on-line clean-up and analyte separation by SPE prior to analysis in an automated workflow. Injection volume from 1 µL to 1000 µL Low carry-over due to multiple wash solvents. Sample cooling. 2 high or low well plates or 48 vials. Optional Column oven. Upgradable to Symbiosis on-line SPE system. Solvent storage. Runs under AnalystTM version 1.4.1 and higher. Uses AnalystTM security settings. Uses AnalystTM Audit Trail settings. Records all LC information per chromatogram in the *.wiff file. Also controllable through Sparklink 4.10.
Ovens
Mistral - Oven
Almost every parameter defining a chromatographic separation is temperature dependent. Suffice it to say that temperature control provides an indispensable tool to optimize your HPLC or UHPLC assay. As you will easily recognize, retention times will be more constant with constant temperature, but varying the temperature can also be a great help to tune selectivity, improve peak shape and reduce analysis time. Plus, high temperatures reduce column back pressure significantly, allowing higher solvent flow rates, narrower columns or smaller particles. Clearly, such benefits will only happen if the temperature itself is stable and precise, and without temperature gradients in the oven or the column. And this is exactly what we had in mind when we designed the MISTRAL™ with its forced air oven, excellent temperature control and integrated solvent pre-heater.

Spark - Traditional Volumetric Dispensers
Traditional volumetric dispensers are designed for pipetting reagents or samples into vials or wells at ambient pressure or a few Bar at most. Online volumetric reagent delivery however, may require the ability to introduce reagents into a system with a high working pressure. The HPD™ was originally designed by Spark for SPE solvent delivery in on-line SPE-LC systems, but other applications are easy to imagine. Think of pre-column reagent addition for online derivatization in HPLC, post-column reagent addition for detection enhancement, etc.

Axel Semrau® offers different online SPE front end solutions based on Spark technology. All our CHRONECT Symbiosis solutions are UHPLC systems combined with an online SPE front end and the robust and reliable PAL autosampler with flexible options for sample preparation.
