Spectral Energies - kHz-Rate Burst-Mode Laser Systems
Spectral Energies is pleased to offer their state-of-the-art Burst-Mode Laser Systems that are Master Oscillator Power Amplifier (MOPA) family of products, configurable for the simultaneous measurement of temperature, velocity, chemical species, and molecular-energy distributions at rates of 5 kHz to 1 MHz with point to planar resolution. The key to achieving high pulse energies at high repetition rates is the burst-mode architecture, as illustrated right.
Spectral Energies - High-Speed Planar Laser-Induced Fluorescence (PLIF) and Particle-Image Velocimetry (PIV) Systems
Spectral Energies, LLC has extensive experience in assembling fully operational, test-cell-worthy, high-speed planar laser-induced fluorescence (PLIF) and particle-image velocimetry (PIV) systems. The customer need only provide the test article, and SE can deliver the entire PLIF/PIV system, including lasers, cameras, breadboards, software, electronics, and optics. Initial measurements and training can be included in system delivery for a nominal fee.
Spectral Energies - Hyper Spectral Absorption Sensor
Today’s modern propulsion platforms are expected to provide unprecedented performance in terms of fuel efficiency, power output, and reliability – demands that will only continue to increase over time. These increasing demands force designers to rely on sophisticated computer simulations that use models of the complex chemistry and turbulent flow field that are often difficult and sometimes impossible to validate. Having a means to measure critical combustion performance data such as flame temperature and key species concentrations is highly desirable. Laser-absorption-based sensors offer the means to non-intrusively measure gas properties in the harshest, most challenging of environments.
Spectral Energies - Model PS-CARS - Portable Mobile System
Spectral Energies’ mobile PS-CARS system provides the benefits of non-intrusive, accurate measurements of temperature and species concentrations available to combustors, gas-turbine engines, and other harsh optical environments. The PS-CARS system is compact, easy-to-use, mobile and provides high-spatial resolution temperature measurements. This system allows for the suppression of nonresonant-background (NRB) interference signal by time-delaying the probe pulse with respect to the pump/Stokes pulses, thereby improving the accuracy and sensitivity of CARS thermometry, a feature particularly useful in rich hydrocarbon-air flames [T.R. Meyer, S. Roy, and J. R. Gord, Appl. Spectros. 61, 1135 (2007)].].
Spectral Energies - Model PACS - Portable Aerosol Collector & Spectrometer
Exposure to engineered nanomaterials (NMs)—materials composed of particles with features smaller than 100 nm—represents a new inhalation hazard for which there are no standard measurement methodologies or applicable occupational exposure limits (OELs). The industrial hygiene (IH) sampling paradigm relies on the ubiquitous use of filter sampling equipment to measure mass-based personal exposures that are then compared to mass-based OELs.
Spectral-Energies - Plasma Anemometer
Spectral Energies’ High-Bandwidth Plasma Anemometer, developed in collaboration with the University of Notre Dame, has the capability to measure gas properties (currently velocity and pressure) at temperatures approaching 2000 C and up to hypersonic Mach numbers. The Plasma Anemometer uses a low-power electrical discharge as the main sensing element. AC power is used to drive the discharge between two electrodes separated by a small air gap. Control is via current-feedback to maintain the plasma operating point.
